What is so good about these places? Generally in 0.5-0.7 systems, what do they give that missions and ratting in asteroids don't?
Not long moved into a new system along with my corp, I don't want to do just missions. |

Not really worth it in hisec.
In lowsec and null these can bring in bigger rewards than missions and belt rats. |

Anomalies are basically small combat sites that can be completed very quickly, have a lot of NPC's all concentrated in one area which anyone can do at anytime. No wasting time searching asteroid belts and a lot more ISK can be made on bounties from Anomalies. They can be completed solo or fleeted with other players. No special skills are needed to find them and no set amount of Corp/Faction standing is required to access them like with missions. Also if you warp away and quit the anomaly, there is no penalty.
They also have a small random chance to spawn a Faction Commander NPC and an even smaller chance to escalate into expedition. Expedition gained from anomaly usually leads to a DED rated site which gives players a very good chance at gaining Faction loot.
Hope this answers your questions.

Loving the answer! Thanks, currently cannot do low sec anomalies. Only flying a cruiser and there are way too many NPCs for my liking. Not worth the risk to find out if I can do it for the moment.
BS are normally ideal? If so is it possible to solo them with a BS or even a BC? |

Officer-level modules, and in some cases protection from interference above a certain ship size (i.e. there's a restricted warp-gate there so wartargets can't jump your frigate with a cruiser, something you'd otherwise have to do a less-rewarding L1 to get). |

I think high sec anomalies are definitely worth it, especially since you don't have to constantly keep spamming D-Scan watching for players trying to increase their killmail stats. |

EDIT: Generally speaking a BC is the biggest thing you'll want to fly in low-sec, a solo BS is far too vulnerable to small ships and too good a kill-mail to resist.
The low sec anomalies you find without probes aren't gated. They were buffed not too long ago and have a decent payout on par with a one room mission. They very very rarely spawn a faction rat, even more rarely that rat has a faction mod drop and the rarest of all is the fabled escalation that triggers from them.
Regardless of what you fly in these expect to get dead fast if you aren't expecting company. |

Sounds like you may be in the wrong corp, missioning and ratting, mining is what they may do, to break up your boredom in the mean time try cosmos missions in the friggi system (and surrounding areas) rewards are kind of meh but still worth a try.
As a lone pilot in low and null you'll be hunted like a game animal in a safari so keep this in mind and only go if your willing to lose your ship and replace it after you see a blue flash and hear the rushing sound of a tire going flat. |
