Maybe I missed it somewhere, but is there a cap on the amout of skill points a character can have? Unless there is, theoretically you can have a main character with maxxed out skills of every kind - given enough time.
e.g. a Main that can do it all, and really well. Fighting, mining, refining, manufacturing, etc?

I did notice that the top clone can only store about 4.5 million skill points. That looked to me like the limit you can keep after a death. But is there an actual cap on the amount you can have trained?

/me slaps you silly with a Pita..

*ahem.* Sorry. Couldn't resist. The short-form answer is No. No limit except time. Remember that spreading out too much means you pretty much suck at everything, tho - but there are enought interrelated skills to keep you chasing a "specialization" for ages and thru about 6 different trees =8).

hope this answers your question. Can i call you Garbanzo?

You are in a maze of twisty little asteroids, all alike.

There are 98 skills in game as well as about another 50 or so that are missing, and there are proberly others ive not seen. In beta is was estimated that to train all skills to lvl 5 would take about 8 months or more.

Its all down to play style. You can be what ever you want to be.

Death is an effective skill cap. :) You can only preserve so many skill points with the best clone available (19 million I think). It's in your best interest to plan your skills carefully. It can be cheaper too.
