Carebears, the gank is your creation. Adapt.
Some still do and all credit (no pun intended) to them. Some just gank and that's that. I wasn't here before the changes to the gate gun thing but I can see both sides. The pirates and gankers adapted, I adapted, not sure about the carebears. Things change and we evolve. I hope Eve is around for a very long time, for one thing I would love to see how this matter evolves over the course of a few more years.
Nobody, no matter what they say for the sake of argument is going to enjoy losing their ship. If your play style revolves around detroying ships then you will antagonise a lot of people. Get used to it or hunt NPC convoys maybe?
Most people hate gankers, some people hate pirates but it does go with the territory. Perhaps a Robin Hood role or maybe Bounty Hunting would be more your cup of tea? PvP + Profit and more popularity. In RL many Pirates became Bounty Hunters and visa versa. It would be more of a challange too and there seems to be a lack of anti-pirate PvPers out there. Remember a lot of these gankers have good bounites on them and some nice equipment, they are often stuffed in a stand up fight if they are rigged for sniping too
Just an idea from a grease in the teeth salvage bum. Don't limit yourself to a stereotype, as my wise friend Solomon sadi about Ore Thieves:
"I'll never understand ore thieves. If Eve is an all expenses paid trip to Paris for the weekend they are spending the whole time in the Louvre canteen waiting for somebody to drop a bread roll. Me, I intend to explore the city and drink deep of all the many things it has to offer"
Food for thought.

Gankers are gankers, nobody created them they've always existed. And, I adapted long ago. Notice once again; this thread was started by a pirate not a carebear. Who are the whiners? ------------

I think pirating is a valid profession in EVE. The only problem is there isn't enough of a penalty associated with being a murderer. Negative sec characters should have a very difficult time traveling in empire. Players should be allowed to open fire on anyone in empire with a -2.0 sec rating. They should be denied the ability to dock at empire stations.
But CCP should also give them the tools to help them out in the lawless tracts of space. For starters CCP should implement Black Market trading so the pirates can still outfit themselves and survive without needing to go to empire.
There is too much illogical mixing of bad guys and good guys in empire. The risks need to be equal for both carebears and pirates.
Carebears go to low sec or no sec space they risk getting killed.
Pirates go to 0.5 sec and above they risk getting shot at by players and are denied docking rights to stations. Obviously if they are shot at they can defend themselves without concord intervention.
In no other game universe can the bad guys more so freely through lawful space.
Oh and while I'm at it CCP needs to get rid of alts. Worst idea they ever had for too many reasons to count here.

The Alt question has been debated at length, my 2 isk on the issue is that I would like to try other play styles. There are many downsides but personally I think it would be better to prevent the abuse of what is a nice system to have.
On the other points, I agree. There needs to be a shadow society of sorts. At the moment this would have to be player created but since that would involve mining and industry and most pirates kill miners on sight I can se why most of 0.0 is a bit of infrastructure free wasteland. It should be much harder to redeem yourself than just killing rats.

We did, we got into the habit of using instas. So you started campaigning for instas to be nerfed so we wouldn't have teh slighest chance of escaping.
And the ganker was only partly a carebear creation anyway. Mostly, it arose because it's very easy to do and entails no risk whatsoever. _______________________________________________ There is no such thing as too much cynicism
