Nerf= is a term used when something in Game is changed...for better or worse.You hear this most when someone doesn't like a certain change that was made a ship less powerful or less desirable.. etc.
Insta=is a BM that is made at a gate so that when u choose the book mark and warp to it it lands u directly on a gate or station...or can..or belt..or safe spot etc. avoiding the lengthy...and sometiems deadly travel to that certain point.

nerf is usually used when something has changed in a bad way. Thats why the Devs use the word overhaul, people who like the change call it change and the people who hate it call it a nerf.
And before you ask, PDU = Power Diagnostic System

Thanks guys-that's very helpful. So I assume that everyone is using instas to slip away from gate campers and this is causing frustration on the part of the PvPers?
BTW, how is PDU=Power Diagnostic System?

It was still called a PDU after the castor patch... must have been exodus that changed this.

They're also using the average of a few thousand bookmarks per account to cause a great deal of server stress.

FYI, just in case you've never seen these, the term "nerf" actually come from a brand of toy balls. They are soft foam balls that are made "safe" so that children don't hurt themselfs with them. So when something is nerfed it is usually downgraded -ie. made less powerfull, does less dammage.

A Nerf is also an animal in the starwars universe. Leia calls Han Solo a scruffy-looking Nerf herder in episode 4.

This is in response to the instas causing server overload. That's a load of BS. Bookmarks can't overload the system that much or else agent missions and any other place to warp to would cause stress on the server. Basically everything station, gate, planet, moon, asteroid belt, complex, and whatever on the overview are bookmarks to the location that it's symbol represents. Instas causing server stress is a major bs complaint of low sec empire gankers.
/me prepares for the flaming that will most surely follow.
