There is a problem with one of the two fiber backbones connecting Iceland's communication with the rest of the world. Expect connection problems with the EVE game servers and official site from time to time until this is resolved.

Although the servers are located in london, the website is hosted in iceland, as well as account information (Login, verification, accounts active etc).
So although the server itself is happily stable, your not able to get the 'ok' from the iceland server

Will we get any sort of compensation for all the days we are unable/having problems connecting?
Not a whine for freebies, just a serious question.

Well the problem is caused by Iceland's international pipes and not CCP itself so i doubt it. -------------- The Eve Diplomacy Table

So CCP can claim against their SLA with their service providers.
But as the problem is not that of the clients, the clients should not be penalised for it.
If we as a provider loose our international connectivity for any reason, even those outside of our control, we, are still responsible to our customers for it.
So I was simply asking the question

It's not CCP's fault, they don't need to compensate you. Even if they did, the only quantifiable measure would be to reimburse your subscription fees for the days you couldn't log in. I make that they'd owe you around 23p sterling. If you put another 7p towards it you could get yourself a compensatory packet of crisps.

This just in! Apparently we can blame Scotland for this one, the malfunction is at some railway bridge close to Edinburgh and repairs wont begin untill sometime this weekend. ETA probably sunday or monday, except if something serious is going on... not like this isn't serious enough
