I'll keep it short:
- All drones got tech 2, even mining drone
- For lights and med skills are: Scout Drones V, Drones V, Specialization I
- For havies are: Drones V, Heavy Drones V, Specialization I
- 4 specialization skills, based on race damage. I.e. ammar drone special. is for EM damage drones, minmatar for Exp.
- Special. skill gives +5% to damage, rank V skill. Memory, Perception. Req: Drones V
- Drones stats are the same, +20% damage, a bit more speed and HP, resistances same. Tech 2 miner goes for 25/cycle

Good god... anyone see the dominix outdamaging the blasterthron after this? by the virtue that he'll carry all 4 damage types of T2 heavy drones and just launch the ones most suited to the ship attacking him?

Holy ****.
20% more base dmg, 5% per lvl.
Imagine in Ishtar doing 40% more dmg just out of drones, and the drones are faster with more hp You'll need a Zealot with like 5 damage mods to outdamage them, heh.

 thorax is the uglies ship in the game, if its not very powerfull, then, no1 would use it
i canceled my account, and im already thinking i cant even hold to next year to reactivate it

Quick maths tells me the Ishtar does 495 DpS with 15 Ogre IIs.
Talk about overpowered.

This is great news I can now fully move to drones witout other weapon systems for PvE. Well I could befor but its better now.

Yes, Ishtars and Domi's will be ship of the month for a while.
Im guessing the drones havent changed in volume? (Much like tech2 guns take more grid and CPU.)

Same volume.
I guess how much they would cost to prouce though. They are more like ammunition, not weapon, so i really hope they wont get 2mil each. On a long run anyway.

Yeah great news, you'll be able to do more damage then gank ships, have a full tank, a full set of highslots for cap sucking or even more guns...

Since i'm bored, some more maths.
These drones do 990 damage per volley. Thats assuming 15 Ogre IIs and all skills at 5. A 'usual' Ishtar / Domi pilot will be at 450 DpS, or 900 damage / volley. (14 Ogre IIs and lvl4 spec skill)

I dunno though, the last time I took on someone in a Domini, all cheered as I launched 14 ogre - but in about 5 seconds they were all gone when the other guy started up his smart bomb  . Drones are still pretty limited imho.

It will take a Zealot like 5 dmg mods to match the damage of an Ishtars drones.
I think using 5/7 lowslots classifies as a gank ship

Seriously though - drones are short range weapons. 52.5km range with maxxed out skills. It seems only fair that something short ranged would have high damage output when an apoc can (apparently) snipe from 150km away
