How ?
I know if they get to close to something they decloak ! But Trust me Thats a pain when your in a Battelship.
I've Tried using drones But they are useless because You can only send them to a object and not an Area of Space.
Has Anyone got any ideas on how to Eliminate these Ships as a threat.

lol
As the whole deliberate CCP design of Covert Ops ships was to be just that sort of threat, I don't see that happening soon.

Well use a frigate or two in the fleet. Use ECM Burst. ~

ECM burst does not decloak a covert ops.
It breaks locks. Something you cant do while cloaked.
Am I missing something?

Covert ops are intended for Spying.
The ability to warp to that gang member while cloaked is ancillary.
One thing I did think of was using a long range Smart bomb. but there is no other solution.
There is
Long range Smart bomb Drones (They orbit to Close so not much point) or getting some one lse to move around to try and disrupt one.
Have I missed anything ? Please help. |

The only way to counter Covert Ops is to be prepared for them. If you suspect one is in an area, you can send out some Interceptors to fly around where you suspect he is in the hope that you'll pass close enough to decloak him. Otherwise, nothing you can do. Covert Ops ships in and of themselves are rarely a threat (though I've got a Buzzard setup that is a pretty good Inty-killer ). They generally just sneak up close enough to you so that a group of other ships can warp in on top of you. So, keep an eye on local, and keep moving, and there isn't much they can do.
As a Covert Ops pilot myself, the most irritating thing is when the enemy warps in at a gate WAYYY out, forcing me to spend several minutes flying out to him, then relocates. If you keep moving, it's going to be hard for them to catch you. Remember, it's rarely the covert ops ship that is willing to tackle, that job is usually left up to an interceptor (or less expensive ship). Also, if they're scanning for you with probes, warp between several different instas at intervals of a couple minutes. This makes scan probing very difficult if not impossible.
So basically what it comes down to is, if you see someone in local that you suspect is Covert Opsing, or if you see a gang of hostiles enter local and you know they've possibly got CO, keep moving around, don't sit still anywhere for long.

get a few Gallente frigs with light drones, make them eject drones so they fly around the ship, then comb volumes of space. That's the best you can do I suppose

Smart Bombs.... or, i think i heard somewhere (on a thread or something ) that there are smartbombs that act as uncloakers..... with a longer range etc but no dmg.
Wouldnt be a bad idea, a anti-cloak SB with a 7.5km for frigate size, 10km for cruiser and 15km for Bs's?
