Ok, I'm going to lay my 2 ISK out on the table, here...
Role-wise, most certainly a Blockade Runner or Deep Space Transport, because those are the closest thing to a smuggling ship EVE has. Fit wise, Han modified his hyperdrive to one of the fastest available, so he would have assurely used Hyperspace Velocity rigs to warp faster. I also agree with the modified shields, as I believe the falcon also had military-grade shield deflectors. It would have to include one turrest slot for the quad-laser turrets and one launcher slot, because it had concussion missiles added, as well. An oversized MWD or AB is also very likely...all in all, it's reall hard to say because the classification conventions between EVE and Star Wars are very different...but I would put my money on a very craftily fitted Minmatar Blockade Runner.

The YT-1300 would be the equivalent size of a noobship. It's too small to be a frigate. The violator would be the closest to the millenium falcon since the violator has a turret and a launcher hardpoint, though it's bonuses are related to rail technology not laser technology.
Purpose-wise the millenium falcon would be a sansha's nation hauler. Role bonus 100% to small energy turret damage, Amarr bonus to turret tracking and cargo, caldari bonus to turret damage and velocity. Three high (1T,1L,IU), five or six mid, two or three low, 2 rig, no dronebay. |

The 12 parsecs quote is about the 18 parsec route in star wars known as the kessel run. Han manipulated space-time (Star wars space-time, not real space-time) by flying very close to the maw, using it's unique geography to shorten the distance. If you wished to translate this to eve it would probably be a probe bonus or a mass reduction when entering w-space since the closest thing EvE has to the maw is w-space. |

This is the problem with Star Wars fanatics. At least Christopher Lloyd had the humor and decency to admit that Doc Brown's "1.21 JIGGAWATTS" was simply a pronunciation mistake that nobody bothered to correct during filming. The parsecs quote can't be fixed or explained away through retcon. Call it what it is, actors saying the wrong thing back in the 70's because that's what somebody wrote down wrong, back in the 70's. |

Actually, if you take Quantum Physics into consideration, the statement you are attempting to debunk is theoretically true, flying close to black holes theoretically causes a distortion of time and space (or what we call time and space) to a degree that time passes differently for you than it does everyone else...and at different rates, depending on how close to it you are...as well as space being more dense, etc.

Well, I'm not a fanatic :(
A fanatic would know that the script has "Ben reacts to Solo's stupid attempt to impress them with obvious misinformation." as a director's note.
I do need to clean up what I said though so it is stated as opinion rather than fact.

I always kind of think of it as a Mellenium Falcon.

First off, let's get the size accurate: according to Wookiepedia, the MF is roughly the same size as an Amarr shuttle. This thing is small and fast. It's lightly armed with just a pair of turrets that have a high rate of fire, decent tracking, and short range. That sounds like blasters to me. Along with the design, it's almost certainly going to be Gallente. Founding member of the Belligerent Undesirables movement. |

Technically speaking, (played a bit of PnP Star Wars a long time ago), the falcon is a Freighter, Corellian in design, YT-1300 in designation. That's fairly close to Caldari in origination, as Corellia has a primarily Capitalist social structure, with a great deal of focus on industry and manufacturing.
The Falcon itself is an upgraded retrofit version of the YT-1300 and has a Hyperdrive capable of 1.5x standard speed for a good ship. It's highly maneuverable and has twin turbo-laser turrets, top and bottom, which fire in a 360 degree arc around the ship with an elevation of approximately -5 degrees to 45 degrees. It also has a custom fit turret under the cockpit, which I'm sure many are familiar with, as added defense.
Good shields provide most of the defense against incoming fire, along with a higher than average maneuverability. It's agility is beyond what most would expect of a ship of this class, and is the result of many retrofit parts that have been added over the years. Beyond that, there is very little special about the Millenium Falcon, save that it is still running after all this time.
I'd personally go with Caldari with regard to the original design, and consideration for it having been passed around through Pirate Factions in one fashion or another, then having ended up in Minmatar hands after all. zubzubzubzubzubzubzubzub |

The scale differences are significant between Star Wars and EVE - The Falcon for example has vast shields for a ship of its size, because someone shoehorned the shield generators from a Nebulon-B frigate into it... It must have at least eight rig slots (rigging really ought to have a reliability factor, it might be less of a no-brainer if you randomly warp scrambled yourself because cross-wiring your shield generators through your engines occasionally deleted your navigation computer's boot.ini ) It also has seriously upsized guns, two quad laser cannon in place of the normal dorsal and ventral turrets and the concussion missile launchers (which are mounted where no 'slot' exists).
The Kessel run, AFAIK, is a question of how close to the black hole cluster of The Maw you dare go - and is not a question of actors getting it wrong. Lucas might have got it wrong, but if so he retcon'd it pretty quickly; and as he's the originator of the Star Wars universe... |

The thing is frig sized by eve standards anyway. Save you money and buy a wreathe. It was called the "Correllian Corvette" in the old X-wing/Tie Fighter games iirc, so a first hand version would probably be more of a luxury shuttle. |

This is how it was explained in one of the novels (read it many years ago, so I don't remember the name). Basically doing it in only 12 parsecs was unheard of because the route took you dangerously close to a black hole or something. Though I think it's fairly safe to say they simply spouted some sci-fi sounding stuff in the movie and later came up with a way to explain it once they realized they were using the wrong unit of measurement. |
