You need an off switch for yourself. America is the only country to go from barbarism to decadence (and back to barbarism - KI) without civilization in between. - Oscar Wilde - 1870's |

You need an off switch for yourself. In case of feed back or there are other people in the room talking to me and I don't want the mic to pick them up. Too lazy to alt tab and click mute on the screen.
Edit: Newegg doesn't really have anything that is actually studio quality.

I am using steelseries 4H, but it is fragile so i don't take it often, actually i don't feel I have them on all time, and sometimes forget to get them off, it's miracle the wire is still intact. Sound quality is good for games. :P Inside mining barge, true story |

my mic is a separate entity. i listen to a ton of music both at the computer and away from it. so it makes sense for me to have separate equipment. |

let the headphone people make the headphones, and the microphone people make the microphones
for headphones I use: sony mdr V6. they're studio monitors, better than -anything- you can find that has a mic attached (corsair, razr, blah gaming headsets) people who "know" use sony mdr-v6. Howard Stern, for example. I like them so much, I bought two (after my first mdr-v6 of 10 years broke). if you want more bass, mdr-v600's have bigger drivers and more bass.
for a mic I use: samson G-Trak popular, solid studio mic and it's excellent for teamspeak.

Those are good and what I use bit hot for my ears, though that is a personal thing more. putting them behind the ears fixes that the more advanced ones are excellent, but you pay for it. Worth it if you have the cash |

also: i have my mdr-v6's running through an amp, because the mdr-v6's are underpowered with stock computer audio outlets. (a sound card with an amp will solve the power issue, but I don't have room after my video cards)
boostaroo
mdr-v6's for $70-ish USD, boostaroo amp for $25-ish USD... no one comes close to the sound quality for less than 3x, 4x the price. at least Want To Adopt: any 2003 children to work as passive income minor alts in the PLEX trade.. |

I haven-¦t read a single post reply and skipping to the only headphones you will ever need to buy
SENNHEISER
Anything else, like Skullcandy or the infamous Beats are just ... teen headphones, MACs for the ears so to speak. Symbols.
If you want to truly listen to music use Sennheiser , not even BOSE ones are as good.
Unless you want to go into Professional stuff like Fostex, Audeze or Grado, Sennheiser are the best below 300$

(they're going to suck) I can already point out 1 flaw with the Sony headphones. Where the headband meets the plastic just above the ear pieces(where the adjusters are) on both sides is a structure weak point. They will break after about a year or so. Usually just outside of the warranty range. I've had a pair of skullcandys and Sonys with the same style of band and both of them break in the same places. They may have better stats on paper if they can only stay together and not fall apart.
I've noticed a lot of people have been suggesting Sennheiser so I might just get a decent pair of those. Stick around. I'm full of bad ideas. ~Isaac Clarke *Bait* with your altGäó *Bacon* with your mainGäó |

I'm gonna jump on the Sennheiser bandwagon with the PC-350
I've had mine for 2-3 years, they still sound great, with a pretty long cord.
Hell, not even just for gaming, Sennheisers pretty much always will be some of the best sounding headphones you can buy. Don't buy any crap by TurtleBeach/Razr/ other big name gaming company. There, you pay for the name. and gaming advertisements. With Sennheisers, you pay for the Sennheiser name. Which is quite worth it. |
