This was the first time anyone tried to gank my miner in high sec. It was impressive, it was quite a rush, it was fun.
They said they were ganking me for not having a mining pass. I had previously bought one, but I sent them a nice mail and 20 million to support their further activities. It's worth it just in entertainment value, but it's also nice to see miners kept on their toes.
My ship survived. I tank my macks and often fly skiffs, so I survived.
So...I salute you, high sec gankers who tried to kill me. Good fight. Fly safe. |

I commend you noble miner, and apologize for the mix up. As the New Order expands to cover all of Highsec, these kinds of misunderstandings are bound to become more common, which is why it is important for all good, code-compliant miners such as yourself to place a "bumpersticker" into your bio proclaiming your support of James 315 and the New Order of Highsec. This will help avoid further misunderstandings. I should also add that whenever such things have happened in the past, when a miner holding a legitimate permit was mistakenly ganked, full recompense is made for the total amount of the loss and then some.

I found a nicer content creating corp than James 315.
They managed to create a sort of "mini sovereignty" in a mining system with ample warning signs (GSCs with warnings) to whoever comes close to their space.
Those who do, are always and relentlessy and forever:
- wardecced if applicable... and those guys REALLY punish hard.
- suicide ganked, no matter what ship and how much tank they use
- podded and corpse exposed and linked.
This killerage also included various famous and less famous bumper corps, one of them is perma-decced now.
Despite they are quite wealthy, I am going to sponsor them, they create real, continuous "stuff" in that system and if I had to pay somebody for protection, I'd definitely pay them. They are not hot air who show up once a month. I have seen them and see them every day, it's fun and nice to witness.

Properly trained you can fit a fully functional T2 shield tank after 10 days. Such a mining Osprey, supported by an offgrid booster, could easily get just short of 23k ehp a year ago. Right after Crucible, gankers in Thrashers were looking for supposedly easy victims. I guess they were surprised, that they didn't even get through half of my Ospreys shield when Concord arrived . However most of us realize this is a game, where life and death encounters are part of the fun. If you were in a game about organized crime (which you kind of are) a visit from the mob and the accompanying decision to fight, pay, flee, or die might very well be one of the high points of the game.
Perspective, get some. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If they are just bumping the miners, there is no criminal (or suspect) flag... thus you cannot fire on them unless you choose to suicide gank them with your Drake.
If the go for a gank, Concord will kill them likely before you have a chance to lock em up... although if you are quick you might get a small piece of that kill mail (but you won't get the kill itself).

Concord will pop them before you wake up from boredom and even if you were alert, concord will probably pop them before your missiles arrived, and gankers are completely aware that they will lose their ship, and shiploss is meaningless to them anyway, and doubly meaningless to them when New order has not quite enough for james to cash out with a titan yet 40 bil to spend on ship replacements. |

Hey, now. I have a payment from 12/26 in Brap. Mostly from enjoying the show. If they'd asked for donations I would have gladly given it. I can only see this as a healthy thing for at-the-keyboard miners who put on some kind of tank.
Then there's the donation I made yesterday after they tried to gank me.

but here's the facts, JOIN a corp and grow some balls,
if it's in high sec nobody owns it until it's in your cargo hold.
if you pay ransoms you will pay them forever and they will increase.
if you want to mine and make real isk, join a 0.0 corp who holds sov. tax levels are good, protection is brilliant in most of them and you will never have to deal with the pvp carebear scammers who don't have the balls to head into 0.0 space.

During my short break from FW, before i dove back in i tried mining, and it wasnt so bad. But i found, i had many a combat skill, but no mining barge skills.
And as an obviously super l33t pvp player i couldn't bear not maximizing my numbers. So what was I to do? Ship spin till i could fly a barge?
Nawwwww, I put my well honed BS skills to use and flew a mining Rohk. Lets see them suicide gank over 100k ehp.
Mine -> Can -> hauler is pretty easy of you have alts anyway. But omg's what if they can flip or kills the hauler? Rokh has plenty of room for drones, and ewar to hold em down, and fly a battlebager if need be. |
