I am starting this thread as fork from the active armour balancing thread. Many people tend to discuss the ASB balance there and even though I find it interesting I deem it off topic. Hence this place to see what other people think.
My opinion: ASB effectively merges 3 modules into one Shield booster, capacitor booster and shield boost amplifier. The fiting requirements are however lower than for T1 shield booster. I guess giving it fitting requirement of roughly the sum of mrged module and also increasing the capacity to the pre-nerf state (maybe decrease the shield boost amount slightly) would balance this module quite nicely.
As a result fitting two oversized modules on a ship would be impossible. Even fitting two proper size modules would require some sacrifices and support modules. They will give large burst tank followed by long reload or half running sub par rep amount.
The main advantage over he normal SB will be the cap immunity, not the boost amount.
Not sure if this would work or if I am overlooking something. |

I know this has been discussed extensively, but I felt it is better to start new thread rather than necroing some dead one.
And keeping the ASB discussion separated from armor tanking thread is the sole reason for this threads existence. |

And what do you hope to discuss that hasn't been already? if you have a question its prob been answered already. If your basing this off of how the new armor mods might effect it... you cant yet. - Nulla Curas |

I don't like how it pretty much only works for a minute and then drains a massive amount of cap to boost. |

Thats the balance built into the module, the trade off to the decent boost, is the reload time - Nulla Curas |

As above. Look at the armor changes in the features and ideas discussion, there is a proposed ancillary armor repper... kind of - Nulla Curas |

This, in addition to buffing normal local rep drastically. ASB is competitive with buffering, which is how it's supposed to be. Make normal local rep (both shield and armor) also competitive with buffering, and balance is achieved. Standings Improvement Service https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19454 |

I guess 100 extra CPU to fit an ASB is than the vanilla boosters. That's cool math bro.
"The main advantage over he normal SB will be the cap immunity, not the boost amount."
At the cost of having a cap booster to fuel EVERYTHING ELSE on your ship and the ridiculous CPU usage?
Do you even into logic bro?
