Devs please realize that the changes to npc's and the removal of the .4% increase from 750k rats sucks for people like me that don't want to spend the majority of my leisure time, NPCin'.
Presently, my security rating is -3.1, I can't get into .8 and above. If you take into account my "Connections" skill, which I spent a considerable amount of training (for no benefit?)I'm -1.51.
I don't like to NPC, so please fix the "Connections" skill so I don't need to. And hurry up!

The connections skill works fine. If you look at your effective standing toward CONCORD, I'm sure it will include the effects of the connection skill.
I also remember the days when your security rating was equal to your CONCORD standing, but that was long ago - before the connections skill was introduced. Who says that should still be the case?

Train up Fast Talk skill, it'll help you gain standing faster when killing NPCs.

Concord standing towards you is your security rating... It says it will be adjusted with you connections skill... but it is not actually adjusted... You were missing the point, the standing should be what it says.

No it doesn't. Every belt rat I blasted before I got fast talk gave me the same sec increase after i got it to 3, including 500k, 750k and 1mil rats. The skill doesn't work, stop telling people to train it.

Erm, isnt that ment to reduce the security hit you take when killing someone? Its not an NPC'ing skill.

if you are negative, they aren't friendly. Therefore, Connections does not apply. It only boosts standings that are already positive. The skill you're looking for is Diplomacy. It boosts hostile factions. (negative ones)

More clarification. Your sec status is NOT your CONCORD Assembly (the faction) standing. It is your CONCORD (the corporation) standing. It also appears that your sec level is your true standing, not affected by skills. For example, my sec status is 1.6, my CONCORD standing is 1.62 (2.96 with connections 4) Whether this situation is intended or not, I don't know. However, in your situation it doesn't matter, as Connections only affects friendly standings.
I have diplomacy as well... But when I check my standing the standing reads as "X" then next to it reads (Diplomacy 4 raises your effective standing from Y)
But it doesn't actually work, that is what I am complaing about. And I'm justified because the damn skill doesn't work...

Which is why I said that the sec status appears to be your TRUE standing, not affected by skills. I also said I don't know if this is intended or not. Reading what you quoted would be a good idea.
