I'm currently training up lasers for NPC hunting / mishes on both a prophecy and an apoc. So that I have an idea of what to fit, can anyone suggest any setups that may help me? Thinking lvl 3 / 4 missions and 0.0 hunting.

Yeah someone suggest a decent set-up since I can't even hit a frig with heavy pulse lasers even WITH A TARGET PAINTER since this "patch"

eh? I'm not even slightly fussed about the nerf to Ravens. But its STUPID to have to put painters AND webbers on a ship with THREE meds.
I have been training laser skills for a few weeks and am a tad miffed that yesterday I could kill frigs nicely and today I can't even hit them.

Target painters were uber nerfed, don't use them.

Throw in a L smart bomb if the bad guys you fight orbit close enough. This goes nicely to the 8th slot. If not put in a couple of small lasers and watch the annoying little buggers go boom boom. And enjoy the benefits of extreme freedom fitting the rest of the ship due to freed up CPU and grid.
Also of you are planning on soloing level 4, I would suggest that you might want to look into and consider getting an apoc instead of an arma.

Mmm. Can't really help you with that. Even less now that it is in memoriam.
But I would hazard a guess that small lasers would work for that too, although you would likely need to refit and come back to kill the big boys. :/

Tracking Computers, or even Tracking Enhancers if mid slots are that painful.

Strange, for me heavy pulses are excellent against frigates. Then again, I shoot every 1.8sec and my shots do enough damage to nuke any frigate in two pops tops.

Ive always use 4 heavy pulse/2 medium pulse/1 assault-heavy launcher + drones in my proph.
Poc is a bit trickyer, we'll have to wait and see if missiles are still worth training as a secondary weapon for poc pilots.

high:
6 mega beams (named or tech II)
2 medium pulse II (for the firgs)
med:
4 cap rechargers.
low:
2 large armor repairs
4 armor hardners
1 cap relay
15 medium drones |
