This customer still needs to hear from a Dev.
To everyone who is offended by the Devs have done to us, I appreciate your support.
To everyone who says we all should just cope, perhaps you'd like to take a stab at it: What is the point of this change? How does it improve our gaming experience? How does an increase in launcher grid requirements improve this game? Why are those of us who are offended wrong to be so?

Because you make a thread and demand a Dev reply, does not mean it's going to happen. And if you want carefully detailed explinations of why changes have been made, there is a whole board here chock full of those explinations you are demanding. Your not going to get a nutshell recap, the patch is simply to big. Read, learn, catch up on the issues that have been hashed out for months before this that you have failed to notice. Then once you get up to speed, perhaps you can enter into intelligent discussion about the changes. Then again, by that time (a few weeks), you'll have trained the appropriate skills and actually be far more effective in many ways than was ever possible before the patch. Will you have to tweak some ships while you adjust your skill levels? Yes. Is that a good thing? Yes. Will you be able to be a more effective pilot that was possible pre-patch with these new skills? Absolutely.
Don't mean to sound harsh, but about the only sympathy your going to find here is from people who are too lazy to figure out they are going to be far better off in the long run than they could ever have been before... or are too lazy to bother fitting their ship a bit differently than they are used to.

heres some advice from a farly nebish charecter 4months old btw. Battleships are not a noobs ship you need at least 8 months skills behind it for it to work.
What i advise is you newbies like me is to do is to get a nice cruiser and a frigate to play with they need less skills to be good with and if you lose them are easier to replace the time it takes to be good with missile skills dont compare with turret users below is a list of level 5 skills needed to use LARGE tech 2 guns then you see wehat level 5 skills you need for tech 2 launchers.
Gunnery 5 small turrets 5 medium turrets 5 larg turrets 5 sharp shooting 5 [ if you want tech 2 beams] Motion Prediction 5 [ if you want tech 2 pulse lasers]
that is just he level 5 skills there are several more to learn to level 4 i belive.
using charecte rmanager it will take me almost 2 months to learn all this and i already have 3 of the level 5 skills learnt.
The point of all this is you are not meant to be uber withany wepon system for quite a while so just play with the firgates and cruisers like me till you are uber

Originally by: Ortu Konsinni I take it you looked at the wrong stat ("explosion velocity" -- look at "max velocity"). These are the new, and therefore current relevant stats of standard/light missiles: 5 seconds flight time 3750m/s base speed
The Missile Bombardment skill boosts flight time by 10% per level. The Missile Projection skill boosts max velocity by 10% per level.
5 * 1.3 (for level 3) = 6.5 3750 * 1.3 = 4875 6.5 * 4875 = 31687.5 Am I right?
Originally by: Sobeseki Pawi Orbit closer with the 650s and use heavier ammo.
That's another good advice.
Ah I saw it and you are right. Thanks for the help Well I think I have to live with a combo of 1 heavy and 1 assault launcher.

Ok... I have a 5 Month Old and 18 month Old Charactor.... There is some major diffrences.... But, where I am noticing it the most is on FRIGS of all things... Yes I know, train the new skills and I intend too, on both of them......
But, come on folks... Frigs should be easy to mount with the correct weapons after a month in game.... Not 7 or 8 months..... Personally they "pwn'ed" the Kestrel and it ****es me off
