I just looked at these two classes of ships. Neither of them have any slots so their powergrid and cpu don't really matter.
But Freighters have 1 mw powergrid while shuttles have 25 mw and Freighters have 1 tf cpu while shuttles have 150 tf. It seems out of whack, but it makes no difference for game balance and the devs don't need to even bother to change this.
I just thought it was kinda funny that a tiny little shuttle has a power core equal to 25 freighters and a computer 150 times faster.

Might also be that the values of powergrid and CPU we see are 'extra' left for pilots to use as they wish.
For Freighters everything is optimized for big big cargo; no useless slots for standard modules, and power core optimized for the ship systems.
Then again for shuttles, with rich VIPs as passengers, we'll need lot of free CPU for all those holoreel shows and entertainment modules..

Shuttles where made to cruise with. You should be able to surf on adult sites and plug your mix master. All that takes CPU and grid. Freighters are more serious buissnes and dont allow stuff like that

With this patch it seems you have to have a positive cpu/power to undock with all modules online. Maybe this is why they got 1 of each so the code will apply for these ships as well.
