Several features I would like to see;
1) The ability to be able to manufacture ANY trade goods, say 'Dairy Products' for example, and then sell.
You could 'licence' the operation of this and then tax this as well - and require skills as well, with the money going towards bounties or some other universal benefit (say a loans company - to help out noobs).
Additionally, to be able to make trade goods, you would need buy / make their component parts, say 'consumer electronics' and the other bits to make 'transmitters' or the like.
2) The ability to be able to setup a 'School' where you can become a tutor or something similar to be able to 'make' and sell Skills.
3) To be able to grant access to other corps / players to allow them to access an external hangar - that way you can work closer with alliances, i.e. make things for them, share loot, etc. Of course, security lock downs need to be incorporated!
4) Please, Player Stations!!! (I wonder how many times this has been asked...)
If it's already in, can the platforms be more readily available?
Cheers,
J

lol :)
You buy mummy and daddy ones and breed your own...
Then you milk them and make 'Dairy Products'...
Simple eh?

I do like the basis of this idea.
Perhaps a slight twist. Require Trade Goods to make other items.
- Micro Electronics to make Weapons/Sensors/etc. - Electronics for Shields/Engineering items? - Oil and Water to manufacture Hybrid or Projectile Turrets, etc.

This was suggested a few times in Beta, and I still think it's a good idea.
Especially if trade items were needed for production as well, like electronic parts and silicate glass, etc...
Tie that into only certain planets supply those items and you have more than one reason to build a space station. Means your station maybe produces trade goods as well as minerals over time for free from the planet bound population. These can then be sold to other traders / players, etc...
The system can be as complex as they want it to be, and to be honest, this game has such depth and complexity in so many areas, yet manufacturing is like Duplo for idiots.
Make it complex ! Make it hard ! Give manufacturing back to the manufacturers !

I have already suggested that regular Trade goods need to be used for manufacture in addition to the raw minerals, most of them are already applicable;
Mechanical Parts, Electronic Parts, Silicon, Carbon, Glass, Oxygen, Micro-electronics, Synth Oil, Crystal Egg, etc.
And don't forget beer, always needed when making stuff :)

yes that would be good so you have to set up a fac to make the good which then you could sell.. but only in some Staions so that you the the raw stuff from below(eath side)....
But then we can have Industry Giant in space.....

I think the other major point for the favour of this idea is that it would generate Player Demand for trade goods. Not just NPC demand which can be met not too long after downtime, and lots of trade runs exhausted.
Imagine that players require these parts, that then give meaning to player traders that might know a great source for the parts needed by the manufacturer.
Player demand helping to meet players delivering. Sounds like more of a working dynamic market.
Ohh yeah, and of course beer-production facilities. If whilst we are docked our characters don't meet the required beer-intake their training suffers. Or should that be the other way around ;p
