Im a new player that need to learn pvp basics...
Im caldari and I think that the best way to learn standard tactics is to waste a massive amount of cheap frigates.
So I decided to use the kestrel because its a missile boat able to take down assault frigate and intys if they are sadly played.
im using this fiting:
high: 4 standard missile launchers with bloodclaws
med: 1MN MWD, web, disrupt
low: cap relay and nanofiber or small armor rap or an other cap relay
what about the rockets ? what about speed, firepower ? When im lucky, i can make 100dmg per missiles so up to 400dmg with 4 ML.
I think thats enough FP, but what about the new patch ? it seems that BS cant hit anymore small ships with BS stuff equiped.
so my last question will be: is the kestrel a good ship to learn pvp skills ? ive got some haulers, frigates with my missile boat allready, im taking fun but what, im trying to findout what to do with a Moa or a BB...

I doubt you could fit that with the new Advanced Weapon Skill maxed, and thats 2 million skillpoints invested right there.

I just read that... damn it sucks but ive a kes fitted like that, ive fitted it before the patch hehe.
anyway, it seems that the only thing possible now is to fit rocket launchers... the kestrel isnt still a missile boat, it sucks balls...

Hrm, rockets have always been better than light missiles in DOT.......but maybe people just forget that.

Use rockets... they have much better chance of doing good damage on small targets, even if u got low skills. They do more damage anyways. Forget about small missiles on frigs... they are for assault launchers now.

Ha ha! It all comes back to the rockets!
Guess I'll have to do some figuring tonight and see the range and DPS that rockets can get now...and gives me a reason to train Rockets from L1
