I had a great idea for the new Amarr Emperor while i was sitting in summer school. What if he was totaly insane like Caligula, Nero or Gaius Atillius(famous Roman Emperors). I think it would be pretty cool if he had The Royal Navy start shooting asteroids or planets (caligula ordered his army to attack the ocean). He could even start a civil war between the pure blood amarrians and the others(sry forgot your race), theres are endless possiblities of story lines that can come from this such as he attacks the galente and minmatar.

As if the most powerful singular person in the galaxy wouldn't have a clone in reserve for incidents like this. :P (as opposed to simply getting old & dying)

Emperors are forbidden of cloning themselves for theological reasons.

cloning yes, but what about a cyborg body ? with his conscious digitalised and stored in a backup file.
Liquid dreams filled her mind as she found herself sinking into an eternal ocean of blood. An ocean she had created over the severed flesh of her assigned targets. |

Sheesh, seeing the Amarrian navy attacking asteroids would be funny. What would be funnier would be killing them while they are busy attacking the asteroids. Ohh boy I would have fun in amarrian space. I would get all kinds of uber loot from killing the navy. Hehe, was that part of your plan, Morpheus? I mean you ARE a Minmatar hehe. Amarrian emporers are already enhanced to the limit of cybornetic technology, hence their average lifespan of around 500 years. As well as the fact that the same reason they wont use clones, their holy flesh, would also not permit them to digitize their brain and reinstall into a robotic body. Once the first flesh of a holy amarr emporer is destroyed, he is gone forever.

We've already got the possibility of this, his name's Aritcio Kor-Azor. My money's on him becoming Emperor by fiat, and I can't wait.

To the original poster, yes that would be fun.
As for why the emperor did not have a clone, maybe the assassin destroyed the clone data as well!

Emperors are not alllowed to have clones, as they are considered to make the flesh impure.
Likewise he wouldn't have had a digital backup of his personality stored to be put into a robot, as the recording process destroys the original brain configuration. That's if it's even possible to put a human conciousness into a machine, there's all sort of deep philosopical questions regarding this.
