I know this may seem like a bit of nitpicking, but next time there is going to be an extended downtime (even for an hour), could there be a post about it? While today its not a major inconvience, some of us did have skills that were going to finish right after DT was regularly supposed to end.
A few minutes here and there of lost training time is no big deal, but the point is perhaps next time we could get something more than an offhand remark in a thread?

There was an announcement. You just didn't see it.
It said "TERRORIST ATTACK IN LONDON" and it was on CNN. -- Dark Shikari: POS Consultant!

And it had nothing whatsoever to do with the extended downtime today.

You know, there is this little thing called MOTD, just besides the place where you put in your usernam and password, slightly up and to the right of the button you press to connect.
It's used to tell about things like this. Can you read what it says? _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Actually, a lot of the time if I can't connect to the server that doesn't even show up. I usually resort to reading the one at eve-i.com.
In fact I just started up EVE client right now, and there's no MOTD shown on the connect screen.
See, no MOTD. :)

Or maybe passwords really arn't supposed to be saved? I know they turned off that feature in UO years ago. I would never save passwords. What if you PC is stolen?

I think EVE would be pretty far down on my list of concerns if someone steals my PC.

WHAT? So somebody goes to the trouble of breaking into my house, ignores all the valuables that are easy to cart off, and walks around until he finds my computer, which is probably worth jack **** to resell because it's A USED COMPUTER, and a customized one at that. I don't see why they should disable the save password feature for the FEW PEOPLE who might conceivably have security problem, and annoy the majority who don't.
Incidentally, I don't save my password. Go figure. ___________________________________________ ^^^***---All things serve the Beam---***^^^ GDBT is recruiting! |

I wouldn't stress about 4 hours much. Actually, I've missed over to 80 hours once, and to tell the truth it really didn't faze me.
Of course, this week, part of my Hurricane preparedness check list is set Amarr Cruisers V training.
I find that amusing, bizarre and sad all at the same time. What's worse is after all these months, I can forget about skills I set half a week before, go to sleep and automatically wake 20 minutes before a skill training period expires.. and then log in without really knowing why I am doing so at 4AM.
I love long skills. 20 minute skills are the devil.
