At the moment, I can only orbit a target at a maximum distance of 30km, how can I change this higher? My Missiles' range are 40+km. Seems obsolete if I cant stay at the distance. |

In the selected item window, right click the orbit button.
You should get an option to change/set your default orbit, you can set this to anything up to 100km I believe. |

Ye I've tried that, the maximum is 30km for myself. Different for everyone?

The fourth button from the left. You can set it to anything. (20km is 20000)

No, the actual Orbit button (picture of a dot with a circle going 'round it). Right click that, there will be an option to "set default orbit distance." Select that and you will get a small window with a text box. You can enter 40000 and it will be 40km orbit. |

The actual max orbit distance is not defined, but i think it's limited to MAXINT value of approx 2 billion meters. You can easily set an out-of-grid orbit distance of few hundred kilometers off the target, but you will only continue orbiting it if it is a static object visible from everywhere (like a gate, station, cyno field, etc.). |
