What a coincidence!
This didn't make sense to me. Would someone rephrase or explain it please? Goons are ganking Mackraws but what does this meta game thing have to do with it? CSM - Do you think? You see if they ruin high sec and WHs, you are ripping the newbie uterus out of EVE and feeding it to the big alliances. When it is gone, they will starve and die. |

So ... it was impossible to use war declarations as a tool to grief people?
Really?
Hmm ... all those people bragging how they destroyed corps and alliances for the "lulz" they must be making it all up.
I think this change is great. It gives people more control over their play experience and they don't have to sit in stations for weeks at a time or go play another game. Ideas and stuff EVE - the game of sand castles, either building them or kicking them down. |

This thread went really deep until someone necro'ed it.
Null sec real PVPers "Lulz at gankbears" Low sec real PVPers "Gief moar tears!" Worm hole people, "Dude? Wait. What?" High sec bears "Yippie!"
The only ones sad about this are griefers and mercs. Privateers won't even go to WHs or low sec. Hmm ...
*** This looks like a great idea for forcing griefbears out into real PVP.
This is definitely a good move by CCP More happy carebears More happy PVPers More $$$ Ideas and stuff EVE - the game of sand castles, either building them or kicking them down. |

Just re-iterating that I think this change is good. It gives people a defence against griefing and more freedom of choice. Ideas and stuff EVE - the game of sand castles, either building them or kicking them down. |

Multi-quoting the same person is usually nit-picking and annoying to read. I usually skip those posts entirely. Ideas and stuff EVE - the game of sand castles, either building them or kicking them down. |

Depends on how you gauge griefing. In terms of the EULA and harassment it has to be very clear cut and extreme cases as CCP is a business. However, there are a lot of grey areas.
Griefing much like trolling is done when some pathetic little creature uses a mechanic in a game to deliberately sabotage the playing of another gamer with the purpose of obtaining an emotional response. They make no gain within the game and they usually feel a little more significant and in control of their screwed up lives. Sadly, since this all occurs in the game, it does nothing to fix the roots of their problems, so they continually perpetuate this activity in order to get another "fix."
