For the past several months the New Eden Open Videos were available on the Own3d website (for a listing with match names see here - Videos of New Eden Open Matches). However Own3d is shutting down apparently. Can CCP PLEASE upload them to Youtube so that they will be available in the future.

I did the following to get the NEO videos onto my computer.
Got VideoCacheView for windows.
Loaded the video. Copied the file from cache to my desktop and named appropriately.
What they are is .mp4 files packaged as .flv files. They don't need to be converted they just need to be repackaged so mainstream players can play them.
I used ffmpeg to repackage:
ffmpeg -i file.flv -c copy -copyts file.mp4
I don't have the bandwidth (or the permission) to upload these files but if someone wants to do it, that is the magic formula. |

Actually HD stream is mp4 there.
Grabbed some with a NetVideoHunter plugin in my Firefox.

I'm seeing a few of the Reputation Cartel matches were uploaded a couple of months ago. Definitely need the full set of NEO in a streamlined presentation. Anyone who can do this and post a linky here will be loved by many, I promise you.

I have all the matches on a disk here.
Can anyone from CCP tell me if it would be cool if I uploaded these to Youtube?
My internet is crap but I can borrow a friend's one night to do the uploads. Or I can send them to someone at CCP to upload them to the official CCP account.
About 10G in total. |

Awesome, now we just need to find a way to get CCP to read this post and do something.. Perhaps this calls for a petition as I am stuck after all..

Hey sorry my torrent shut down the last two nights. Something to do with my VM.
Anyway I switched to a different program on a different machine. I will seed from the beginning of the competition. Hopefully it will continue to trickle 24 hours a day. |

HaartSp please be carefull with this, as you say CCP need to give the answer.
Probably it is question regarding who owns the videos, CCP or Own3D, and what is their legal status now.

Did anything ever come of this?
The aforementioned torrent is unresponsive.
Getting psyched to lose tons of isk betting on AT-XI, i thought it would be fun to do some baking and watch some NEO vids. Silly that it is the most polished/produced tourney in EVE, and the content is just not to be found.
Shouldn't an intern with an email account be able solve or at least clarify this in an hour or two? |
