Edited by: Skyld on 08/07/2005 17:46:52 Mission accomplished!
I ran a kill mission last night and it was loads of fun. Had to get revenge on these pirates by killing their habbitation module to kill all their leaders. Warped into area, killed a few pirates and then went for the module. The minute I attacked it all dozen or so pirates that were patroling teh area came after me. Very cool. Defenitely not the usual dumb MMO NPCs who just stand around until you poke them.

What ship and fittings did you do it with? I have a Rifter frigate and I'm working on upgrading it so I can survive 4 pirates at once :)

Edited by: Skyld on 08/07/2005 19:18:31 I also have a little Rifter. No options really and I have very little skill. I have 2 basic autocannons (sorry don't remember which ones, they weren't more than 10k each) and 2 basic missile launchers (similar prices). I have the cheapest ammo for both.
My missiles outranged the pirates so I just ran from them and lit them up. Eventually I turned to fight but there were only a few left at that point. I'm sure the game will get much harder but at least this was pretty cool.

What distance did you keep them at?

I believe it was 10-14 klicks. But I might be wrong about that. Do noob missiles even fire that far?=)

Lol good to see newbies having fun. What I went for when I started was shield skills and upgrades, Sure your guns are weak but at least you can stay in the fight longer. ------------------------------------------------ CAPTFERRO Coming to a system near you.

Yup I started doing kill missions as soon as I got a frigate too. Killing the pirates was pretty easy but those rotten drones give me a hard time. They haven't killed me yet but I've had to warp out for repairs sometimes. It's really worth it to equip one or two of the civilian shield rechargers and as much other repair equipment as you can afford to deploy IMO. It saves a lot of time and not having to pay for repairs is nice too. |

best advice is to find you a name small armor repairer.
i've been playing eve for over a year now, my assault frigate usually has 1-2 small armor repairer T2's and guns. with several cap recharge modules
soemthing to consider are armor resistance modifiers
each type of NPC deals certain types of damage. find out what the damage type the rat your going against deals.. and put corosponding armor hardners to reduce the damage they deal considerably.
in my assault frigate.. i can take 6-10 NPC frigs at once

I must say I am having fun as well though mining rather than missions to make money at the moment, about 12 days played now and in my Verox cruiser with 5 scout drones going, nice to be able to use it as a mining vessel while the drones take care of all the rats then run out and pick up the load of ore with my ity2 about 480k per load..... I really am having a good time.
