Yeah creating a thread about it isn't a bad thing especially to see if others are having the same issue, but you should always submit a bug report since it could attract the devs attention quicker. Especially with your title they might think it is just someone complaining about the DUST players being in general chat channels (not password locked ones) so may instead skip over your post in favor of what are some of the best names spotted in EVE.

He's very obviously stating that your subject is inappropriately worded if you're wanting it to draw useful attention.

Maybe DUST is able to create a channel witht he same name as an EVE channel and the server just decides to mix you all together.
So its possible all party statements are true.

Why do they have highlighted messages at all, if anything they should have faded out messages, because, you know the chance that what they're saying is of less interest to me than what other EVE players are saying is pretty high.

Also, I would like to point out how ANNOYING it is to actually FIND the link to the patch notes on your website.

Well it all depends on how the database is implemented.
If it uses constant variable naming, then it will keep adding to it whenever it is redefined.
If its instanced, then it shouldn't be occurring.

Ahah EVE uses python and it does indeed allow multiple definitions of a variable.
Normally not an issue as it goes
A=1
c=3
A=c
A=3

But with Dust it would go
A=1 A=1
c=3 c=1
A=c A=c
A=3 A=1
A=1&3
So its just one of those issues you get when using 13 year old code and try to integrate modern code from a completely separate game in a different language and architecture.
Sort of like making spring loaded train axles so you can transition from US to Russian rail system under the Berring Strait for an invasion force.

1: You're not really trying to draw relevent Dev attention with this thread, you just want to complain. Otherwise you would rename the thread appropriately.

2: You don't understand that quite possibly there is a DB issue (I can make a channel in DUST with the same name as your passworded channel) and it mistakenly melds the members of those channels together. Or that CCP is aware of it but apparently their fix has failed.

3: You are more interested in seeking attention than getting the issue fixed, or you'd have turned in a bug report.

4: You've never noticed the direct link to the patch notes in the game launcher.
