Hello my friends, here is the story:
I've been playing eve with an ancient P4 and a nvidia 7600GT (shame on me, yes) with the mind of change the system the next spring.... of course my motherboard decided to shout down forevermore the last weekend.... i still have the will to buy smth powerful the next year but since the one i'm going to quick build to be able to play eve again will be used in about 6 months for a 24/7 usage for well known "not that legal things", i wouldn't spend a lot for it (integrated graphics will be more than enough to navigate internet or watch a movie) ,,,,, :P i would like to know if Intel or Amd integrated graphics can run eve well enough to warp around (maybe run some mission) even with lowest graphic quality settings.
Ty for any kind of hints and If anyone is thinking that i'm mad...
I'm proudly am!
(and sorry for my crappy english :) |

I have old laptop with Intel Graphic Media Accelerator X3100, with 1.46 GHz dual-core processor. With minimum settings it can be used for chatting or market price-checks (10 fps with CQ disabled) and travelling (fps can drop to 5) but I would not go to missions with it.
I don't know about newer models, since my new laptop has real graphic card and not integrated. Carebear -á* -áTrader -á* -áPerfect Music-á-á* -áNever Scamming -á* -áNever Pirating |

Hmm my cheapo craptop i use sometimes for changing skills etc has a GMA4500 which can manage FIS on min settings. I wouldnt really want to do anything too risky though as you get the occasional heavy FPS dip when there is too much going on. Trying to enable CQ on integrated GFX is just silly. |

I just bought a Lenovo M91 and although I plan to plug in my nuclear Nvidia card as soon as the new PSU arrives, the onboard graphics card is very fast. |

I can play on low settings on my work laptop which isn't the most powerful. So I'm guessing most motherboards with integrated video, so long as they meet the shader requirements, should work okay for the short term as they're likely more powerful than that. Probably not something you'd want to use in a processing lag intensive area, but for simpler activities you should be okay. |

My GPU and my CPU actually have a really close relationship and their sex seems good enough to let me play EvE good at high levels, better at lower levels of eyecandy.
It's this one ... ... and i like it more than the crappy ATI that i have onboard, because ATI-drivers suck ass bigtime! :)
I believe you'll be totally happy with this CPU already, (and the more modern ones, ofc) and to be fair i don't know how AMD is doing with their integrated gfx ...
I just know that ATI/AMD graphics drivers are the worst pile of dung beetle ridden, stinking, fly invested Diarrhea i've ever seen. Both desktop and mobile.
Enjoy. :) |

Something is better than nothing.
No doubt "recent" integrated graphics will be enough to "warp around". I've driven a GMA950 for a looong time before I finally upgraded to something fierce.
Just don't sweat turning all the things to "low" and turn off all (most?) the effects; all will be dandy until you get the right stuff. |

I still have my HP laptop with 1GB of RAM and 128M of iGPU memory that I bought back in '05. LiveStrong L2000 Special Edition or something like that. That plays Eve reasonably well on low settings. I doubt it could handle CQ though. "How do you kill that which has no life?" |

Ok at this point i tried eve on the Intel i3 2125 with Integrated Graphics HD 3000, and can play it with some medium settings and all effects enabled at 1280x1024 at arount 60 FPS even running missions. Enabling AA or Post Processing make FPS drop to around 30 but still didn't have any lag
I'm very impressed how a integrated graphic can outperform on my ancient 7600gt (was used to "play" at minimum setting with fps next to 0). AMD integrated graphics is even better than intel as far as i know.
Hope this post can be helpful to anyone
