how do you get the game to stop restarting the ******* computer when you get into combat?? im getting realy annoyd at this help

It might be an onboard sound card problem.

don't expect us to know how old you PC is, mate.
Try listing the spec, and someone may be able to help. Just throwing out swears and vague notions is not gonna help your cause.
failing that, update all your drivers. Check the tech forum too, as someone else may have already posted the same problem.

You're not using drones are you, if you are then keep them in the drone bay. There's some sort of bug that caused the game to restart if they are used.

Hello
There is a problem weith onboard sound such as AC97 if you have this then you need to update the drivers
search for "REALTEK" they have new drivers on there that will solve this prob
:)

Also as a last resort, try tweaking your AGP Aperture setting in the BIOS. I've had numerous problems with crashes when testing different hardware with Eve.
Rule of thumb for AGP Aperture:
1) If using a GeForce 5900, set it to 4 MB.
2) If using ATI or other GeForce cards, set it to 64 MB, then increase it if you still have problems.

okey will try the last resort then... the first dident work...
here's my pc spec if it helps..
AMD XP 2000+
512 RAM
Geforce 4 TI 4800 128mb
120gb
avance sound card..
Microsoft Xp Pro
and this started after i updated the graphic card drives to the newest.. ive tried all the drives.. and i updated the sound card drives
need to know more ask

Audio acceleration to BASIC or NONE.
START > RUN > dxdiag
Sound Tab > play with the slider

okey heres alittle update.. im not crashing now but i dont know if its because we arnt using any drones or because ive turned of the sound.. ill tell when i know :D

Are you using projectile weapons? If so there is a known bug that the new sound for 1 of the projectile weapons causes crash. (can't remember which particular projectile weapon)

okey it must be the drones that my friends used that made me crasch.. because i played without sound and they had drones out and my comp restarted... and the i tested having sound and no drones and it dident crasch so it must be the drones

Turning sound accel to basic in dxdiag worked for me.
