This Way Up are actively recruiting again.
We are a small corp based in Amarr High sec and Khanid Low sec and are looking for the next wave of new members.
About Us
We are a group of people that mainly know our way around many aspects of Eve.
We have several experienced mission runners with access to L4's for 4-5 corps very close to our high sec home.
We also have a nice pocket of low sec space with blues, intel anda TS3 server.
We are aiming to build up our solid member base over the next few months and progress to null sec, either NPC or renting Sov. In the meantime we are working on building up a good team atmosphere and try out several of the other things that Eve has to offer. This ranges from Mission and Mining ops, Wormhole "Sites and Fights" raids, small fleet pvp and incursions, along with casual exploration in our low sec home.
We do not have an overly high tax rate (10%) but most of that money goes back into providing services for the corp members. While we are building the corp up we will run donation ops, and ask that members come mine with us for an hour every now and then to help towards the corp. We are also building up a corp buyback sceme, which is currently restricted to ores and junk loot, but is planned to extend into PI in the near future. The more that people use these services, the more we can expand them.
What we are looking for
We want team players, people that are happy to work towards a greater goal. We are specifically looking for miners (that will use the corp buyback), casual pvpers, explorers and experienced mission runners.
We offer a 1 month trial to get to know people and see if they fit in and get on with the group, if you pass that trial period, we have a couple of low requirements for ships you can fly (Omen, Rupture and Retriver for now). We will also accept lower skilled toons if thier attitude is right though, personality and willingnes to come play with us is more important than skills!
Pvp is not central to our daily activities at the moment, but we really do want to build up our combat side of the corp, We ask that even if it is not you focus in the game, you must want to learn how to fight, and be prepared to come fly with us and learn. Part of what we provide is ships for combat fleets, so there is little risk to the individual pilot while you learn how to Pew. If you are already skilled, then even better, come share your skills with us.
We want more than anything is members that are going to be part of the group, talk with us on comms and enjoy being part of our corp.

after going into their public channel to talk about joining the CEO who is quite rude kicked me from the channel for no reason and is unable to understand what i was telling him due to having to repeat myself on why i started a new char. in the 2 weeks back into this game after a short break i would recommend NOT join this corp. |

Im sorry you feel that way, but i would like to offer a different perspective on why your application was rejected.
As a CEO, it is my job to protect my corp and its members. As part of this i have to go with the limited facts i am given, and also go on my gut instinct.
So lets look at your application:
First impression, easy enough to talk to, but seems to know a bit about the game already, so prpbably an alt..
On asking you about it, sure enough, this is not your first account, but you state you had not played in a couple of months.
In order for me to make any kind of informed decision about your previous time in eve, I need to see about your previous account, and when linked, he only joined another corp 27 days ago.
So even if your story of going inactive (which i have no reason to believe or dis-believe) is true, it still means you joined a corp and then left straight away. Now add all this up, and look at all the potential risk for a 14 day old toon and put yourself in my shoes, would you have hired you?
I would like to add, I would deny i was rude, thats not my style, but i would perhaps say i was a bit short. Im afraid i was busy preparing for a Op, and talking to a couple of our newer members and could not risk drama to distract me.
So i repeat, im sorry you feel put out, but there it is. I dont pretend to think we are a high target for infiltration, but we are a corp based on trust, and i can only go with the information im handed.
