I noticed something strange and wanted to find out if others have experienced similar things. I am training Industrial to Level 5. The training time was 29 days, 9 hours. My perception is 12 and willpower is 14. The spacial awarness skill was at level 2, so I figured it should take some time off the Industrial training time. So up to 3 goes spacial awarness and the training time for the Industrial level 5 goes down to 27days, 2 hours, well worth the extra 7 hours to save 79 hours. I thought I would save more time by training perception up to 14. This took an additional 43 hours, but when I checked the training time for Industrial it only when down to 26 days, 19 hours. So bumping up my perception by another point only saved 7 hours? This seems very wrong. Is this a bug? Has this happened to others? Thanks, Zuek

The formula, leaving out the influence of Learning, is:
Skill Points/(Attr1 + 0.5*Attr2)
in seconds. So, as you raise the attributes, you will get time decreases, but the returns diminish rather quickly. |

The result of that formula is actually in minutes, not seconds.
By the way, using the numbers in the original post, a decrease from 29d 9h to 27d 2h is 2d 7h or 55h, not 79h. But even this is too much. Bringing Per up to 13 from 12 with Will at 14 should have only equated to about a 5% difference (about 36 hrs or so).
Using your stats as posted w/o Learning skill, I calculate (starting at 181019 SPs, Will 14, Industrial rank 4 skill):
Per 12: 30d 19:27 Per 13: 29d 6:29 (-1d 12:58) Per 14: 27d 21:02 (-1d 9:27)

Mhh.. As I thought. It seems you have the attribute learning bug as well, your real Willpower is 13.

What is this bug? I'm asking because i found out something odd with my char:
Initially i had both Willpower and Memory at 10. I have trained all my learning skills (except Empathy) to level 4. Thus my Willpower and Memory should be 14.
When I look at my character sheet both skills show 15.
I assume that i got 2 attribute-points from the devs because i had only 39 points after char creation (I:8, P:7, C:4, W:10, M:10).
Now the odd thing is that all my skills involving Willpower or Memory behave in training times like both attributes were at 14.
Someone else got this problem?

Almost everyone I met & talked about it. There should be already 2-3 threads where it's explained.

I thought the formula was: (Skill Points * Skill Rank) /(Attr1 + 0.5*Attr2) Thus making a rank 2 skill twice as long to learn as a rank 1 skills

No - the rank is already present in the skill points.
It takes 8000 points to train a rank 1 skill to lvl3, 16000 points to train a rank2 skill to lvl3, 24000 points to train a rank3 skill to lvl3 and 32000 points to train a rank 4 skill to...
