I understand why CCP changed the loot tables to drop less uber loot, but come on there has to be some risk vs reward. I just killed a 30k pirate in 0.0 non-empire space which over 5 jumps from any station. The awesome loot I get; a ship survey scanner 1. I mean with loot like that I might as well stick to Empire space killing .3 sec pirates. Please adjust the loot tables again. Another cool thing would be to add some static spawn points with 20k+ pirates to empire space. There are already a few of these that exist but I think it would add some realism to the game instead of just moons, and asteroid belts! Mindecho Director of Ominous Division Black Avatar

Wow you went 5 whole jumps away from a 0.0 station and killed 1 30k pirate...you should get a huge reward for that.
Ok sorry I'm an ass :P but come on 5 jumps 1 pirate? I go 15-30 jumps from a station and kill 100s of 30-50k pirates does that mean I should get indi full loads of rare loot?
The loot table has been turned way down to kill off the huge glut of rare loot out there now. I'm sure once a lot of it has been lost in combat they will turn it up "a little". But it will never ( I hope) go back to the level it was before.

the loot tables are just fine, maybe just some more tech 1 (not basic as it is now) armor drops, since they all are basic :/. Same goes for power diagnostic 1 units and its like. __________________________________________________________ |

Loot tables currently suck. Right now if you are killing 1k pirates or 30k pirates you likely to get the same stuff. I am sorry what point is bothering to kill the higher level mobs if you are not going to recieve a bigger reward. Spent the evening killing Arch Reavers got a couple medium lasers which are not as good as the small laser which is called a Medium Beam laser and various other assorted items which are useless. Other then that the only item that dropped that might get used once in a while is Medium armor and hull repair modules. Almost all the rest of the items could be found in a .8 system while mineing the asteroid fields. It is a mystery to me why a 30k pirate should drop for the most part the same useless items the newbee zone pirates do. I don't expect them to drop battle ship weopons or Thorax blueprints but it would be nice to see a weopon or cargo expansion that might actually be usefull when you are at a level to fight these.

Why did they even mess with the loot table?...It was fine the way it was. You should not be able to kill multiple 50k pirates by yourself in the first place... all ccp had to do was make the pirates harder to kill and stronger at combat. they didn't do that. they decided to waste our weapons and crash the loot table...blah friggen sucks

The loot tables are (Almost) fine!
I just spent 2 days killing 30-50k pirates worth of about 9 mill isk.
For this I got:
1 heavy anode particle stream 2 heavy pulse masers 2 Skadi Heat sinks 2 C4S Heat Sinks 1 Extrusion Heat sink 10-20 alpha/beta/type d/e stuff 3 Semi-good Miners And a lot of "fill"-stuff - totally about 5500 m3 loot.
The only change I'd like to see - is that those Cruiser pirates stops dropping the Basic stuff - like Basic Overdrive.... I blow those containers anyway - don't want to carry it 40 jumps back to station....
Now rare stuff IS rare - and that's how its supposed to be :)

That is exacly my point. I don't expect uber loot off of every pirate, but I do expect something comparable to the pirates level. I can find that ship scanner off almost any pirate in empire space. I'm risking my ship in a lot harder system and got the risk of PKers; I get the same loot as in average empire space. Damon I've killed a ton of 20-30k pirates since the nerf and 95% of the time it's some n00b pirate drops. If nothing else allow me a recycling module on cruiser so I can meltdown all this garbage in space :).....

Seems like it depends on what type of pirates you kill, eg. angels, serpentis etc. When people started complaining about worse drops I was getting alot of good stuff, because I was hunting the 20-30k angels. But when I started on the 40-50k it got alot worse. I have yet to get ANYTHING good from a 50k, best I got were some ammo. So the 20-30k angels seems fine, but when I started trying the 20-30k serpentis the good drops seemed to stop. What we need is a list of what kind and level the pirates are.

Loot tables for the most part are ok.
If 0.0 adjustments provide for better drops, better agent rewards, why is a Dread Pith Massacrer (2.75m bounty) dropping basics and a small hybrid ammo? And this is in 0.0.
To my way of thinking, this is a royal screwing for the risk that is taken to engage these types of faction ships.
But, ironically, most of the best loot comes from the cruisers and frigates.
How about something.....unique and interesting for a change. Oh, and make the drop fit the ship. It's a bit whacked when uber- BS's drop frigate mods, and Cruisers are shooting Torps. I cannot imagine this will take a tremendous effort programatically.

I think there are a few points that need to be made clear on loot drops. First is risk vs. reward. People need to remember they are already getting a bounty to their kill. The loot tables are not as good as they could be as to what your killing. I really dont care if a 30K rat gives basic stuff , its a 30k rat. But, on the other side when you kill a 1mil bounty rat why is it drops a 1mn AB when you watched it do 500m/s. lets change so that rats cant cheat. It shows a bad example to the younger players. Yes, I think rats could be harder. I would like to see the AI a little smarter in that it doesnt need to cheat. and stop the BS drops of 1mn ab or mwd thats just stupid.

dudes, check the dates on those posts, it was created in 2003 !! it was before even 100k pirates were out and 50k's were the BIGGEST (yeah!!!) rats out there
