Sure am. I cought up on SG-1 last week and I'm getting Atlantis' first season right now, haven't watched that yet but it seems promising. I hope the new baddies in SG-1 are good, perhaps the Goa'uld can make some sort of comeback later on in the series.

Other than stealing the cast from Farspace I'm looking forward to all the Sci Fi Friday. Especially Battlestar Galactica. ------------------

I'm a big fan of SG1, Atlantis has its moments but it's not as good IMO. I hate the Wraith, they're such stereotypical villans. One of the things that made SG1 so good was the unconventional villans like the Replicators and the Goa'uld, with Atlantis it's just futuristic vampires =/
My favorite eposide still has to be Window of Opportunity, when Jack and Teal'c keep reliving the same day over and over =D

I'm awaiting Battlestar the most, and hopefully they'll actually battle more than a few episodes this season. The constant political crap is getting old, I mean they had that in the first series but not so overwhelmingly so. Give me more eps where the take on cylon bases. base stars, traps, bombers, etc.. I mean it's BATTLESTAR galatica, not congress galatica. If they continue down this road they might as well put the show on CNN or C-span.
SG-1 might be even better as I have a feeling that Ben Bowder will be replacing the now General O'neil. Using that "half crazy risk taker dry humor" spot as O'neil becomes less prominent or exits the show all together.
It will be interesting to see if they develop Claudia Black's character's relationship with Jackson.
As for atlantis, I like it. But it looks like they're going to ditch Ford who I really liked. Also I wish the Sheppard / Chiia thing would either happen or fade away. And it would be cool if the "kirked out" sheppard like McKay commented.
But all of these pale in comparrison to what I really want. Bring back firefly. C'mon Scifi channel, buy the rights and have a rabid fanbase. I want my own firefly ship playset, action figures, video game (though nothing as abyssmal as the farscape game please) and other fanboy goodness. Man cannot live on a boxset alone.

Honestly, I kinda like the Wraith. In an era where everybody tries to fill their villains with angst and complexity (with many varying degrees of success), having a race that is just so balls-out, hi-I-want-to-suck-your-life-forces evil is refreshing, in a way. I also dig the Shepperd-Teyla "I heart you because you can kick my ass" thing. And Weir is just spicy.
It's the original SG1 that's gone flat, I think. The last few episodes were just so... so... "WTF? Who WROTE that?" They were dull, predictable, and practically out-of-character at times. (O'Neill/Carter makeoutfest comes to mind. WTF, are they 15?) Frankly, Michael Shanks (Jackson) is the only thing keeping that series afloat right now, actor-wise. Anderson and Tapping seem like they're getting tired of it all. (Can you blame them after eight seasons, going on a ninth?) Also writing-wise, with the introduction of the Prometheus, it's also started to feel kind of Star Trekkish. I long for the days when all we had were P90s and a stargate. In other words, I think the series has become a bit overextended. (I mean, FFS, one more season and it'll tie Deep Space Nine for longest-running scifi show in history.) Give the Farscape folks their little scamper across the stage, tie up the loose ends of the plot, then give Stargate a rest.
And BSG? Mmmmm, BSG. I heart me my politics. I suspect we WILL see more sprangly effects (since I suspect their budget for this season was increased tenfold), but a lot of folks who like it DIG the politics, I think. I just want to know what happens next. OMG Adama got shot what now?!?!?!111 Lurve it, lurve it to death.

I enjoy politics as well, but the this is a Scifi show. If it was going to be so heavy handed with political wrestling between the factons they might have just set it on a planet. As it it the ship scenes seem to be just a reminder that "hey look we're in space, now let's debate!" But like I say the few eps where the fighting is done are very good. The base raid was excellent. It would be nice to see some more eps where you get to see the Galatica bring it's firepower to bear like in the mini series.
I like my scifi to feature gorgeous vistas in space, battles, and character developement, not constant political debate. Admittedly some of it is needed to flesh out the story but this is too much of it.
Of course an excellent show idea would be something themed like the end of the DS9 series with big fleet battles, covert ops, etc.. that would do well I believe. IMO the more scifi shows that crop up the better.
I'll never understand why TV/film executives so often ignore what is clearly a devoted, and nearly rabid, fan base. We're almosted starving for shows as it is. I mean where I live we have BSG, SG-1, Atlantis, and Enterprise. And now even entrprise is gone. (wonder what the star trek boys will come up with next? They can't do worse than can they?) TV execs. have to see the money at least. Maybe it's the reality TV craze (which I can't stand) that blinds them, but hopefully they will soon see the light and we'll have more than 3-4 sci fi shows to look forward to in the listings.

BSG has its moments like when the raiders took on that cylon base on the moon and the guy pilotted through it all, not much for politics myself though so not too keen on it, the SG game i think yes, i will buy it, just for the novelty, and if its any good, bonus!
