Hi folks
I have been reading posts about a story or plot line being introduced in September. (If this forum supported a working search feature I could know more). I think this would be a very good idea and add lots to the game.
But
Is it true? What kind of official word has there been on this matter, any?

We've been waiting for the storyline for a while, so I'd say it's true ;)

I wonder what the story will be composed of, I myself would like to see the classic "alien threat". Might this be the Jove?

nah - if you look at the map, there are only 3 sections of known space that cannot be reached.
Jove space, a little region next to Jove space and that massive expanse on the right hand side...
My money is on that large expanse housing some very nasty, nasty thingies.
Then again, Jove value information about all the other races above all else... why?
to learn our weakness's? how best to defeat us?
I dont think so... they are too few to pose a serious galactic threat.
the final option i can see happening is the EvE gate re-opening and all of our earthy ancestors come to "claim" what is there's...
That might be cool, as in theory, Earth didnt enter into a second dark age that the EvE universe suffered, so they could have technologies far superior even to the Jove. And there would be lots of em too... breed like bunnies humans do.
But yes... STORY! bring it on!

I myself would like to see ANYTHING that adds content..
Being in EVE since beta ive tried it all. Mining, trading, hunting, warring heck even the old 'no reason to log on other then set another skill in training'
It all has a life expectancy of 1 week tops after wich it gets uttely boring.
Content is needed, people are fleeing EVE. Add content, things dont look good. CCP WAKE UP!

It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

It will be difficult to add any storty relating to any kind of aggressively invading aliens. People made a huge fuss about a few pirates camping a gate, I can't begin to imagine the fuss if a powerful NPC force started to sweep through those areas. At least we could keep away from the PC pirates more or less.
Let's face it there is no story, we're supposed to create the story but since all that we can really do is either mine, trade or blow things up it leaves it very limited.
You want a story? Go out and make it, engage in a trade war or a real war with another corp and get other people to help you out, build allegiances with one corp and have a feud with another, double-cross somebody and get podded for it, just don't whinge when it happens :) At least it's more fun than mining.

The story is probably going to be something like: alien invaders come to steal all our good afk mining spots. Or maybe they will try to steal ore from our cargo containers. They might even try to atack us with their mining lasers until enough people complain and CONCORD blows them out of the sky. :)

I have a hard time seeing an "alien threat" in EVE. It just doesn't fit the background setting.
