1: Whats a good beginning ship to get to aim @ mining/making cash without having to make a bunch of trips from base to asteroids.
2. On cloning,
Later down the track, if/when I die and get pod killed,
Say I have my basic clone of 900k.
And I have 800k skill points.
Will there be ANY adverse effects to myself in regards to skill points?
Now, in the same example, say I have the same 900k clone, but I have 1mil skill points. Do I lose 100k off my most developed skill?

1: A Venture. 2: First case you're fine. Second case you'll lose a few skill points. i don't know how it's figured. Just upgrade your clone regularly and you'll be fine. |

Just upgrade the clone now to the limit you can afford. If you forget that in the future it could hurt very much badly. |

The Venture is a glorious beginning for a fledgling miner! I would also recommend you find some like-minded folks, perhaps an industrial corp and mine with them. There are corporations out there in the mining industry that can show you the ropes. As you get the feel for the world of mining, you'll begin to see the pro's and con's to various ships, ores, and else.
Always try to remember to keep your clone updated. You "should" have little issue with keeping tabs on your SP and updating your clone. But if your clone is always rated higher than your SP, you'll always be good to go!! Best of luck as you get started!
