But I can't afford 8 - 9 million... I got 400k right now and maybe, just maybe, 1 million later tonight.
Does that get me anything better then a standard 250mm rail ?

Only if somebody is feeling generous.
For a mill you might get a 250 scout rail or a 250 carbide rail - but even that would be cheap-cheap.

I have 3 250mm Railguns loaded on my rupture and it works fine. Yes I would like to get better guns as well but they are rare drops. Since the patch its crazy. All the best stuff I got was before the patch (2 CU Vapors, 2 Photonic CPUS) but I never got a good gun. Now, its even harder. I spent the last week in 0.0 sectors killing 20k pir8s but still nothing good dropped yet. Thats why the price is so high. It takes DAYS to be lucky enough to get it. And when you do, you are going to keep them =) Or pass it down to another member of the same corporation. Its all based in supply / demand. You spend 1 week getting nailed by 5 pir8s shooting missiles and surviving and then turn around and sell the 1 good thing you got for 400k??? Id rather mine lol . No risk there.

You can buy 250mm compressed coil rails, which are pretty respectable guns, for about 1.2mil - price I paid per gun for three total.
