Anyone using an Apoc to solo LVL 4 missions, specifically missions containing drone?
I've been trying a boat load of new set ups, but can't find one that allows me to take out drones effectively.
Any ideas on set up would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

6x mega modulated beams 2x medium pulse II 1x 100mn afterburner 3x cap recharger II 2x large armor repair (named) 4x armor hardners 1x cap relay
15x medium drones
I use ultraviolet L and multiefrequency L crystals. most of the time I just get to about 60km of the target and pick them off at long range, then move in close to kill the battleships.

6 megabeam II 2 Medium Pulse II 3 Cap recharger II 1 Tracking comp II 1 Large Accom 1 Med repper II 3 Hardners 1600 plate 1 Cap power relay 6 wasps/ beserkers
Get at 60-80 km and let them have it. This wont break a bs drone though, you need a little more damage for that. Kills all the others in seconds.

I manage to finish every single mission solo, the supreme drone parasite is a bit tough to take down but with the afterburner I manage to keep him in optimal range for the multy crystals. same goes for the mordus mammoth.. those two are the biggest tankers against my lazers.

Highs = 6 x megapulse II , 2 x cruise launchers Mids = 3 x cap II , 1 x target painter II Lows = 2 x T2 lrg reps, 3 x hardners , 2 x cap relays
Drones = 4 x heavy 5 x med.
This works for me on all drone missions, infact, thats my setup on nearly every mission, only thing i change is hardners for missions, and some missions i take out target painter and fit a 100mn AB to close in on the npc's that like to sit 40km+ away.

Edited by: Alejandro Zapata on 14/07/2005 15:03:23 Edited by: Alejandro Zapata on 14/07/2005 15:00:02 Ok this sounds like the dumbest question I have ever asked but, Do 5 Heavies and 4 Medium drones really work better against ceptors than 6 Heavies? After typing that out I think I know the answer .
Anyways here is my setup as of late.
8 Megapulse IIs 2 Cap Recharger II, Tracking Computer II, Webifier Lg and Medium T2 Armor Repair, 2 thermal-1kinetic, 2 CPRs Berserkers for missions with the Supreme or Elite Drone Parasites. Their weakest resist is Explosive.
So far so good with this setup. I find that battleships of most types fall quickly to this. And alot of ceptors I can hit when webbed w/ MP IIs, those that I can't die from drone overdose.
I do have problems with Blood Arch Sages and cruisers that get with in 15km and move at a good rate, but don't get below 10km to be webbed, so I am currently in the market for a Domination Webifier if anyone is selling.

5 Tachyon modulated beams (Xray/Gama/Multi freq) 3 Heavy modualted pulse lasers
1 AB 1 Webber 2 Cap recharger IIs
2 Large T2 armor repairers 2 Hardeners 1 Tracking enhancer (or another hardener when needed) 2 Cap relays
5 medium and 4 heavy drones
This is a very tight fit but does great damage. Ceptors go down within 20 sec with just guns and webber. If you use drones, ceptors are gone in less than 10 sec usually. This setup can kill anything but the last boss in lvl 4 vengance mission. I usually carry 2 heatsink IIs when I do that mission. After killed everything besides the last boss, I warp out refit then go back kill it with 2 heatsink IIs. Damn thing just shield boost way too often.

Thanks for all of the suggestions...but how many times with the above setups do you guys have to warp out to recharge your cap?
With only 2 cap recharger II's, and few CPR's, it seems as though you might have some problems with cap recharge rate...
Any thoughts?

Me personally dont have to warp out on 99% of the missions, and i NEVER run out of cap. But, my setup is a rather expensive one.
i use 55% hardners and have 7500+ armor with imps fitted to get it this high, and the cap power relays are the 25% true sansha variety, and with 3 x cap2's fitted in mids i get a cap charge time of 199 secs on 7200 cap, this allows me to run 2 x T2 lrg reps, hardners, lasers with even multifrequency loaded, forever

I use 3 cap recharger 2's and one cpr.
I rarely have to warp but I have good cap skills too.
