While I would love to be able to use something of this nature...the EULA specifically forbids creating a program to aid your characters advancement. I think that this line is a load of S***, but i can't argue the point that even trying to create a program that would record market data is indeed a breach of the EULA. I hereby call upon CCP to change this line to "nor will you USE UN-APPROVED third party add-ons, extras or tools for the game." The idea here to be able to give people with genuinely good ideas to get a little cooperation from the Devs.
Hence it is a grey area, since lots of people already have created third-party applications.

Edited by: Dr Slaughter on 24/10/2005 09:37:19 That line about tools, extra's etc. is laughable. Who's ever used the complex db, or agent lists, or the eve-map program, character manager or.. I wonder, the Naga shop website.. or even my topological maps (to avoid a choke point or find one so you can gank people). Guess what... you're all banned! you broke the EULA by using or trying to use a tool, or extra (website, custom map, etc.)...
Wooooosh. Back down to 2000 accounts and 1500 people on-line.
Devs.. please give us an approved tool to extract market data from our local cache? Make it available to everyone.. have it output in CSV and/or XML. CLI based or an 'export' button on the graph/table itself.
Stops us all thinking about breaking the EULA. It potentially requires no change to the servers or client, and potentially has NO impact on sever performance.
We can then build elegant tools around the exported data without being banned.
hopefully,

Noone replied to my petition, I guess they are all at the FanFest.
Looking at the NPC market, due to the current spate of people trading via buy/sell orders over DT (Linkage) there is no real NPC market.
However, such data tools would be great for those of us who want to know the price of minerals, etc.

Yes.
Nerf the market
Obviously it is a tool that seperates the elite and well informed from the eest of the gang. But then again, I am not one of these people who claims to make 89m per day trading.

I think a market export function is being added for Kali (hopefully for RMR), as well as various other exports. :) ---------- |

Various other exports would include a Wallet export. Which has been promised for about two years now. It did appear briefly, and was on TQ for a day or so, but there were too many glitches in the cacheing methods they used.
Best thing would be to copy / paste from these screens, instead of having to code something extravagant. But this is CCP...

Any plans to add an import facility using the new Export option in the RMR market panel?
Would be especially nice if you could trigger the import using a IGB web page too. Then we don't have to leave the client(s).
