Well you have to keep in mind that there are 5000 something systems connected by stargates. Each system has several planets and some are habitiable (is that a word?). Not to mention stations. I don't think we'll be running out of minions any time soon. Plus I would think that ships would come with escape pods for the crew, well maybe not the amaar ones

Noriath	Posted - 2005.07.15 00:02:00 - [37] Most things are run by machines probaply, but you still need humans to make sure everything is running smoothly, if something jams or whatever you can't get out of your pod, run to the other end of the ship and use the manual override...

And, if there are this many people on a pod ship - where many of the functions are controlled directly so minimal crew is needed - imagine the deaths from NPC rats that still use captains and bridges! Mind you, it's a great pleasure to kill thousands of screaming pirate crewmembers. If there was a graphic of the hull tearing open and people spilling out, I'd also smile ------------ We come in peace. And tanks.
