Are you then useless, unintresting, cannon fodder. If u are not an ubar PVP'er should you stay away from EVE?
I dont get it. Because PVP ppl need producers behind then to get the m the stuff they need to fight. In the WW2 there was approx 40 ppl supporting every fighting Joe.......
If my mining is regarded as useless, then mebbe I should rather go cnl my acct.

New people are always usefull. PVP is not something you are going to get good at fast.
Carefully choose a Corp and you will learn from their experience and can subsidise you in the early stages quite easily. In the process you can be made usefull as a miner or hauler (haulers are always needed) and will begin to get more effective in combat.
Some Corps may use you as cannon fodder so beware. Choose your first Corp carefully.
Eve is worth spending time on.
Best of luck ! Sig in the post ! |

Everyone is useful. PvP is about skill and teamwork, not skill points. Even for PvPing, newbies are quite useful.
And 95% of EVE is based off of the industry aspect, not the PvPing. Even PvPers spend a lot of their time NPCing or mining for money. --

EVE is not all pvp.
I fly T2 frigs, I've been a POS investor and seen the reactions take place, advanced materials made, components built...then sold to ship builders. All this organised by some guy on spreadsheets that make my head spin. And then the hauling. OMFG the hauling. And I love the fact that after all this effort, I can get an AF for a dozen mil.
I pvp, but I've seen the work that goes into making my ships, and I am not above admitting gratitude and respect for those who devote their lives in-game to make all this possible.
So yeah, producers have their place. I have destroyed far, far more than I have ever produced. The people of EVE would be reduced to flying noobships within a week if it only contained people like me.
So there is no shame in being an industrialist. Just don't carebear. ie don't threaten to quit the game over a stolen jet can of Jaspet.

Read the sticky at the top of the crime and punishment thread on how to avoid ore theft.
Common sense and simple to do. Probably over your head then huh?

Dude, I'll give you 500k if you want, thats pocket change.
Jetissoning ore = EXTREMELY risky. If you don't want the risk, DONT DO IT! --

He's a 2 month old player in a corp thats part of an alliance. He has the backup and support he needs to work smarter than this.

Empire mining is a pastime that - with the current mineral prices - makes more money than it has ever done. Your efforts will be belittled by the "uber PvPers", but only in jest (most of the time). There aren't as many of them as you might think, they just like to talk a lot. And no, I'm not one of them.
The only time anyone really has any legitimate reason to get stuck into miners is when they cry and stamp their feet at things going wrong, refusing at all cost to learn from their mistakes, such as whatshisface a few posts above.
If you're not into PvP, then learn to stay away from those who are until you're ready, but don't let them put you off the game as a whole.

I don't pvp and I mostly just haul solo but the attitude above is what turned a great game (UO) into the safe boring world it is today. Still a good game but it lost the real feeling and the vets still to this day lament about what once was. No one is forcing you risk much other than your own greedy self.
That being said: Finding a good corp is like rolling the dice. I wonder sometimes how many new players like myself just fade away because they weren't lucky enough to find a good corp. It's lonely in space. :)

You would have quit EVE sooner or later anyway. It's not the easiest game. Not what I would call a major loss.

Simple answer. If you want to be a miner, do it. The friends you make from being in the right Corp will make the game fun.
If you want to fight, do it, even the Ubers wern't very good to begin with.
Eve is about doing what YOU want in an environment that allows personal choice.
Stick with Eve, it's by far the best ever !

There are very few anti-industrialists, and as with most anti-something'ers, they're a foolish minority. However, since they are the only ones causing industrialists trouble, they put a misleading face on a larger portion of people. People that hate industrialists, "carebears", whatever, are associated with PVP-fighting. Terrorists are associated with muslims. The PVPers and the Muslims are innocent but are still accused directly or indirectly for the acts of very few.
Yes, you are useless, uninteresting cannon fodder to some boring players out there. The majority however more than welcomes you, so don't be disheartened. PVP is just a part of the final product. PVP wouldn't exist without Industry, whilst Industry would still feed of NPCing.
Lets not forget that Industry is coming to 0.0, the place associated almost completely with PVPing. With a little bit of pushyness you can shake off your carebear label while still keep on doing what you do already.

2 mates and I joined back in march/april time.
2 of my mates cancelled this week, we are finding that the new patch has really really dented our enjoyment.
I intend to give it another month, we are not short of cash (i.e. I have 200mil) in the bank it is just PvP is a long way off, mining, Trading or NPC's is a dull as **** and there aint a lot more too it. I am finding I only login to check my skills and do a bit of corp chat and thats hardly worth paying a monthly sub for.
(yes this is an alt)

PvP is as far off as you make it. All you need to learn PvP is a rifter or a vigil and the willingness to be killed a bunch while you learn. That's the best way to learn IMO, join a 0.0 PvP corp and fly rifters in frig gangs or vigils to tackle for larger ships.
Trying to start PvP at a large, expensive ship level is the fastest way to burn through isk that there is.

PVPing is one of the few things that actually works from day one, solo PVPing against battleships and T2-ships however... I bet the three of you could have killed a cruiser if you wanted to.

your job is just scramble them and let others deal the damage.
