I don't normally worry about pods. I'm a little more e-honorable than some, I suppose. I do have some exceptions:
- You're a wartarget. Then it has a practical application - You're on autopilot - I haven't gotten a kill lately and I'm bored |

low sec: try to catch them anyway and offer a 10 - 50m isk ransom based on age / kb stats (likelihood of implants). At such a low price you can pull a bluff even if you have no intention of podding and trying to get a scram on them is good practice anyway. Pod killing has a few practical purposes beyond the tear-oriented and e-peen ones in this thread:
1) it is an ISK sink, and Eve needs as many of those as possible 2) it discourages enemies from flying with expensive implants that would give them an advantage over you 3) it prevents the victim from continuing to function as part of an enemy gang: e.g., FC'ing, scouting |

I was in a group last night where we had a fight in low/null sec....my ship got blown out from under me, I was in the process of getting my pod out of the fighting area, and *poof* I am back in my home station.
It's a part of the game. Get used to it, if you are going to go down to low/null sec expect to get podded.
The only thing that I lost from that fight was part of my backside pride and a long trip of 10 jumps back to my home system.
Most of all, listen to your FC....if your FC says get out of system and you stick around (kinda like I did) I, myself and others that where there and either hung around and try to fight it out or was unable to get out of the system deserved to get blasted and podded.
Chalk it up to a lesson learned. The only person that I can blame for being stupid is myself...
Happy hunting and hope that your next experience in low/null sec is more enjoyable -Slider VII [-S-F-] Star Frontiers Target Practice anyone?

Mister Brutus Kanenald wrote:I am a new pvp'er that has carebear exp. a long while back. After training a bit I have been going into low sec. pvping. I DO NOT mind lossing or losing ships, it's how it goes. But what really eats at me is when after the fight I say GF or good run, nice job, I get pod killed? Really? It's really stupid when you win someone pats you on the back and you pod kill them. Very scumbag tactics. In Minmatar area a group of cruisers from ASSETS pod killed me. I said GF and was moving along to get another ship and bam, pod killed. Nothing more irritating than to have to figure out what skills have to be retrained because of some idiot going overboard. Please stop the pod killing as it amounts to nothing, you get nothing out of it. Thanks.

I consider it a challenge to catch pods after a kill. Its a bit like getting the extra point after a touchdown. You have to try. |

Actually they are just being friendly and saving you the trouble of flying to a station to get another ship
At any rate, learn how clones work and keep it upgraded. You should never lose SPs unless you lose a T3 ship. |

I didn't understand it until I tried it.
2 thoraxes and -5 security rating later... EVE PvP reminds me of sex: there is a long build-up often made frustrating by idiots; a semi-tense and semi-fun stretch to get into business that you try to keep quick; an all too short climax where you pray nothing goes wrong, and you're probably going to go home with less money then you started with. |

because while you are sitting there typing GF the other guys are all screaming over teamspeak GET THE POD GET THE POD GET THE POD!!111 11 1!!!!1 The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |
