In all honesty i'd feel safer eating horse.
Mainly because meat cows are fed other dead cows, which causes them to get mad cow disease, and humans who eat them get CreutzfeldtGÇôJakob disease. Horses are just fed grains, and i've heard they can be quite tasty.

It mostly seems to be about what pets people keep, or have relationships with in some way. When someone has a pet or horse they learn they have unique personalities, so it's harder for us to eat them. But all those animals out in the wild or in the slaughterhouse we consider to be different.
