The blockade was broken by Everlasting Vendetta. Whether its up again now we have no idea, but pirates dont like it when an apoc and 4 cruisers jump in and start kicking ass :)

The gate is being held down by Sinister Corp, and I have seen Zap from m0o join them. They are blockading the Orvolle gate
I was stuck in that system for 18 hours. I basically went to bed, woke up and they were still there. I went to work and came back and saw that they were still there (and Ywev joined them too). Don't they sleep or have jobs to get to?
So I filed a stuck petition and a GM moved me to another system. Just joking :)
I finally managed to slip out though. But its become apparent to me that some of the people who do these blockades have an insane amount of time on their hands. Sometimes just waiting them out is not an option |

i got a good bookmark by the orvolle gate if anyone wants it.
i used it to run the blockage.
its not right next to the gate but close enough to make it through.
when i used it in a moa with no speed enhancers i made it through with no shield and 20% armour damage.
if anyone wants it see me ingame - ill give it for free.
im not a pirate - its not a trap.
if you dont believe me dont ask for a copy :P
im in keshirou 8 jumps from orvolle if anyone wants a copy.

I too have a copy of the bookmark Slothe mentions, and I will freely give copies to people if they want them - just message me ingame....
If certain people persist in blockading gates, then this would be the logical way round it :)

Hold down shift while dragging bookmark to your hangar/cargo hold.
Occasionally it slips up so it is not copied, just moved to the hangar/hold, just put it back in bookmarks and repeat.

I got a bookmark that puts you on top of the Orvolle gate from whatever direction you may be coming... only one problem with it... I cannot copy it no matter what I try, while all the others can be copied fine... guess Ill have to make a new one that isn't bugged :)

I believe one of our members let the Orvolle blockade crew chase him around a bit.
They couldn't catch him. :)
Just use an MWD and these blockades are hardly worth worrying about.

on what grounds do Scorpions "own" Apocs? as far as i can tell they both have strengths and weaknesses as battleships. |

yes, strenght and weakness. The Scorpion's strenghts just happen to attack the Apocs weakness while the Apocs strenghts can easily be countered by the Scorpion. Caldari warcraftsmanship wins the day in skilled hands.

yeah WHATEVER sun thingy, bascially a scorp can totally lock down an apoc using less than half of its 8 med slots, but of course it requres skill on the part of the pilot and no anti-ew stuff to be in use on the apoc.

But how you can fight agains EW? You can use ECM miltispectral, but in retail you must target this device. But when in blockade is more then 1 pirate ship you can be untargeted only by 1 ship and other can lock on you.
Or I missed some point of EW?

Maybe ECM burst work fine, but it hase range 5km so it is really useless agains gate pirates :(

well maybe but not with Paris in it. He couldnt solo me in a moa.attacked me in the back with his scorpion while i was looting in belt.and the ****er still had to run. sorry MOo but sinister is giving you a bad name :) better use them ass miners. :p

Hmm i used mwd and went from full cap to 40% and had no chance :9 locking you down to stop you warping and useing my shield was about my limit =/
So stop posting **** you never even had me below 90% shields and yes i had to get out useing hybrids actually takes a good deal of cap =/
Btw why would i have problems with a moa when i can take 2 thoraxs or a moa quite easily single handed?:)

wow that makes total sense... a scorpion must lie in wait JUST to go up against an apoc at a blockade. so you mean if they are totally geared to counter an apoc, the apoc will have a hard time winning?
seriously, of course a scorpion can negate an apoc if they are geared for it. but an apoc can also counter that with eccm if THEY are geared for it. so forgive me if the whole e-war thing doesnt cut it for the reason why the scorpion utterly trounces the apoc.

Ok children I am basing what i say on a few simple facts.
1. People who fly apocs RARELY if ever equip sensor boosting equipment to counter ew, they go all guns and damage.
2. People who fly scorps USUALLY fit electronic warfare gear cos they have nothing else to it in the slots.

I picture a bunch of acne infested kids with potatoe chip stains on their shirts staring at their monitors about 1 inch away in their dim room, while their mother is pounding on the door, "johnny!! don't you have school today!"
I doubt they sleep, I doubt they work, hell they are currently "working" I'll be surprised if they had LIVES...

Well Lola, it actually happens to be true.
m0o exists for the sole purpose of killing other players. There's no reason for it really, it just amuses them. The other aspects of the game mean nothing to them, just the hoops they had to hop through to get to the point of killing other people randomly and indiscriminatly.
That is indeed a FPS mentality, get that frag count as high as possible.
Except this is an RPG, not a shooter. It's much more about player interaction than simply fighting anyone and everyone you see. Player interaction can mean fighting for sure, but that isn't all it's about or the only possibility.
In fact, fighting is about the most boring form of interaction. We fight, the random number generator does it's magic affected by whatever abilities we have and the victor is decided. We haven't done anything ourselves really, just let the computer hash it out with itself.

It's not "eve-counterstrike".
In CS and other FPS you don't have to wait / play several hours or days to be in a cruiser or battleship again.

In some ways I have to agree with Sanru. Of course it needs some experience of the pilot to fight better then others, but place him into an inferior ship and he will lose a fight no matter how much combat experience he has.
That is the thing about rpgs, let the computer roll the dice for you (remember it started out with pen and paper).
I¦m not saying I¦m against PvP, actually, I¦m for it. And I actually don¦t mind pirates, not even guys like m0o who seemingly kill for the hell of it (in a universe as big as EVE, there must be some psychos around huh?)
My point is the "bad ass" attitude some pirates have in combo with a little arrogance (I don¦t mean everyone). It makes me kinda laugh. Being in a battleship taking down a cruiser hasn¦t necessarrily to do with a person¦s personal skills but more with the ship stats, the modules and how the dices roll ... again, in an even fight, a more experienced player will surely come out the winner, but having trained more skills, having more isk and a better ship along with some knowledge of how to use all that is in fact the reason of a victory in combat and surely is no reason to freak out about or get*****y, that¦s just beyond me.

i spoke to my personal friend who is an e-warfare expert and he did tell me scorpions have an easy time breaking the lock of an apoc. so im the first to admit im wrong...
that being said, i disagree with you saying apoc's never equip ECCM gear because i do. basically you just proved why... a scorpion tends to focus on e-war. so an apoc is at a severe disadvantage 1v1. but its like one pilots sig (cant remember his name): "If I go into battle evenly matched, I have done something terribly wrong"... or something like that
