Was during the time of the neutered concord, flew to Hedion to get my combat tutorial started, when this huge ship (in comparison to my lil noob frig) warped on top of the station with me, insta locked and poped me. This continued for another 20min or so before I finally quit trying for about 2 years before coming back to the game, damned if I can remember that original account name though |

Just finished the explo tut and decided to see what I could find. Found some gurista site (likely a ded site, I was too young to know what it was at the time). There were approx 20 or so rats, and myself in a cormorant. The cormy was SOOOO much better than that little frig they just gave me, so this should be fine right?
Locked on nearest rat and opened fire. About 5 seconds later, all I see is a massive volley of missiles heading towards me. About 5 seconds later, my ship is voilenced to death In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has angered numerous people for many different reasons and is widely considered as a 'bad move'. |

Don't remember which event happen first.
Some guy in local kept asking if someone would please kill him. I said OK, locked him up in my reaper and clicked F1. Not sure if my guns cycled before I got concorded. He had a laugh and sent me "1 MILLION ISK". I was rich and I got one of those skull and bone things next to my name.
Some kid I think he was russian or 10 years old, I'm not sure. Anyways he invited everybody in rookie chat to a fleet. One of the guys was already in a corp and had a friend with Abaddon and level 4 agent.. So something like 30 of us traveled 20 jumps(OMG 20 jumps thats going to take hours!) to Amarr space to run missions. Did I mention is was like 4am US TZ, and I was drunk. Pretty sure the majority of the fleet were children and all on trial accounts. We had a blast. Serious, probably more fun than I've had since. We had to go through hundreds of noob ships that night. I don't think the kid who started the fleet ever logged on again. I don't know if I would have subbed if not for that night. It seemed like a cool game, but as aconsole gamer I just couldn't see paying every month for the same game. -á

I remember doing the tutorial, you know that part where you have to kill 2 rats than mine something. Well I thought I was so smart, oh yeah I was drunk than too. So anyways I'm thinking I can just stay up all night and mine, I'll be rich by the morning. Had no idea that mining was a career, or that most systems had belts. Didn't even know how to find a belt, I was just going to mine that one rock. Don't think I lasted 15 minutes. I said f**k it I'll just make money the hard way and do some missions. -á

I went thru most of the tutorials at first. Didn't want to travel too much at first because I wasn't sure how to get back "home" lol I remember being overwhelmed by so many windows and stuff, took me a while to understand the interface, how to travel, bookmarks and such. Remember my first trip to Jita, to get some modules at a good price... I hated so much the local than escaped almost immediately. Then started doing L1s in my Condor, I loved it. When I had enough money I got a Cormorant and things started to feel slower... now I have a BS but barely use it because it is so slow... so I'm mostly doing low level plexes in a fast cruiser.

I had the Eve wouldnt startup experience...... left it a while.... petitioned.....answer.....disabled audio card..... got in and did the tuts.
OK - not really an experience, so probably my lasting early memory.....
After about 2 weeks of playing i had got into a group of regular players on at my time, we started a corp and began.... mining away heavily. Doing some missions. Stuff.
One day we decided to mine in Ravarin.... IT HAD JASPET !!!!!! shiny..... 5 minutes into the session of about 7 miners and a hauler, our best ship was a thorax and i think i was in a Imicus with shiny tech 2 lasers.
SHIP!!!! - From nowhere!!!! explosions..... lots of explosions..... yelling...... panic...... lots of clicking..... warp...... 15km to gate slow boating......... repeat........ SAFE!!!!!
About 5 minutes later i really thought hard about that. We were a good large group of grown Men and a Woman totally destroyed by one measly ship......
Hooked further.
(edit) Ok, another great moment was finally getting my Thorax and going into Egghelende to get the juicy expensive rats with my 250 rails..... watching my shield and armour get stripped VERY quickly by a kestrel and having Tub0rg boat up in a Scorp and give me the ransom schpeeel.

A few years ago, on my first character, I had completed the tutorials and decided to earn money for a cruiser. I was so excited because I had just read about this technique called jetcanning. You mean I don't have to return to the station every time my little Navitas fills up?!? I had an Iteron and that little Navi and I was just going to jetcan a little fortune...
So after raging in local at the can flipper for stealing my ore (I didn't shoot him, I at least knew better than that), I cooled down and apologized. We got to talking about can flipping and I asked a few questions. He taught me about anchoring, secure containers, and mining turn points.
While I've never engaged in the tactic myself, from that experience I came to view can flipping as a legitimate play activity in Eve. |

My first real experience; I flew a kestrel into Syndicate to see what was so scary about nullsec, got past the 6-CZ gatecamp somehow and flew back into the Groon pocket. I shot a hulk in a belt but his drones nearly nuked me so I ran...then because I couldn't kill any of the rats, I cautiously flew to belts and looted the wrecks of the ratting trash that no one ever takes, flew it to the nearest station and reprocessed/sold it. Thought I was rich because I was making SO MUCH with every full load. Think I did this for like 2 hours, sweating the whole time. |

I was in a rifter, was bored of missions (I had done about 10 of them) and so I decided to do a little touring to another area of space. I set my autopilot up, took note of the route, it was mostly green but I decided one red blip would be easy to skip through, since I was quick.
I jumped into a system that had numbers for its name, and BEHOLD! I saw a giant sparkly bubble of crackling energy - it was soooo beautiful.
Sirens, death, and than I woke up in a strange system..... It was a surreal experience, it took me a little bit to piece together what had happened.

On my first trial attempt I created gallente char who somehow after couple days of mission running had ended up to jita in caracal(Don't ask me how. It just happened during Empyrean age). After this I started taking courier contracts for more isk which led me to take a contract that led to the 0.0. After putting most of my isk to that contract I decided that I will get the stuff to the station. Immediately after I entered low-sec I got hit by a gatecamp. Which ofcourse destroyed my caracal. After I was podded (my clone was in jita) I bought a new caracal and went back to get the packet so I could deliver it to its desdination... And got podded again. This repeated 2-3 times after which I had lost all my ISK. Immediately after this I deleted the character and left the game for sometime. |

Then finally found a corp that was doing the stuff I liked to do until we got wardecced (this was in my 3rd or 4rd week in EVE). I never knew we were at war (didn't know we had notifications) and undocked like 10 to 20 times from a station where about 5 war targets were right on the undock
Those guys did get a lot of killmails from my part until one of them was nice enough to PC me and explain to me how war mechanics etc worked he even refunded all stuff I had lost that day. J'Poll Director / Recruiter - Borealis Mining Concern Recruiter - Imperial Legi0n

They undocked after 5 minutes, Navy Mega, Dominix and a Armageddon, we had 12 t1 cruisers, Me and my trusty Thorax, "Steel Rogue's Thorax" started to engage the Navy Mega, while 2 Blackbirds jammed the geddon and domi, we started applying DPS to the Navy Mega, had it down to 1/4 armor, then we lost jams on the domi, it got rep'd, and we all died slowly. After that, didn't play eve for a year, till my friend invited me back been here ever since. That was 3 years ago. |

Yeah my 1st character was Lord Ryan of the same blood line the current Lord Ryan. Created him cause he looked like me. Once I logged in and saw the Reaper, I logged out and created a Gallente Character on the same account. The Gall had the best looking ships, so he became my main for the next year or so. A couple weeks(months?) later I got a power of 2 account, so I BIO-ed Lord Ryan and remade him on the power of 2 account. I cross trained(big no-no at the time) him so he could sit in all the faction ship and rarly undocked. At one point he could sit in just about every subcap ship but couldn't fit anything over samll t1 guns. After a year or so of playing I realized gall ships kind of suck and Lord Ryan was ready to undock.
