The fights are ongoing but from what I have been hearing from IRC chat quite a few players are throwing the match if they're on the Caldari side.

I do find it neat emergent game play is mattering to players when there is no award offered.

Intriguing.
Dust Bunnies are off the reservation and doing their own thing... Kinda like players in another game we might name.

That was part of the contract sadly, we'd look like some promethen or jovian if we took the helmet off. All generic underneath too. Luxury clones are planned for us.
Anyways 1 hour left on the ops, CCP has said there are quite a few people participating, and that we're doing something well beyond outside of a normal fight, which suggest there is a rather large number of refusal to fight.

Simple rule should be if they don't take live events seriously CCP shouldn't let them decide the outcome of the story.

Well... been doing quite a bit investing these interested players in getting more involved in the universe. New Eden Immigration papers makes it quite easy to get the newberries lorified a bit to understand the sides they're picking.

Indeed. What a wonderful universe we live in, where two mostly-disconnected bodies of players allign so naturally in their behaviors. Makes you almost believe EVE is a real place.

2 Thorax's are indeed pretty handy ships.

Event is over and most of the mercenaries I have talked to found the event fun and also interesting as well that untypically and unconventionally within game mechanic did their darnedest to make it hard for caldari state to win.

Probably for the best. FPS players don't usually get into their backstories so much, the roleplayers will educate the rest of them passively so we don't keep seeing these deviations from very basic lore.

We have a minor... okay I admit it a major problem. It started over a generation 1 clones made from harvested sleeper implants., whom are known for going crazy mumbeling weird things and painting the walls in with their blood the number 514 and turning against the sane clones, soldiers and civilians alike. There was two purges (character resets lorified) since then the gen 2s with the Amarrian implants and gen 3s with reversed engineered implants. The big problem is many of the Generation 1s whent unaccounted for during the black ink testing of the technology. We thought we destroyed them all but investigations are showing several destroyed biomass facilities in *redacted* locations.
Anyways Tibus Heth about a two months ago and the entire stress of it all accelerated his disease which is beginning to deteriorate his mind and thinking as well as health. Since then Tibus has started to become delusional, and began to think ALL of the immortal soldiers where now after him. So last week he declared war on all the caldari loyalist clones. Those that got evacuated on the jump freighter hired mordu legion to rescue the rest of them. Outsider clones on both sides where brought in to fight it out while fleet conducted extractions. All pirate factions are nearly involved right now.
Today it seems we rescued a good 75 enclaves and their routers but after battle reports are still flowing in. The immortal soldiers are going to be hitting other planets soon enough and get them out of caldari space as quickly as feasibly possible.

I was more surprised on just how they went about it, this game forced us to fight each other but one side clearly did their best to protest. I mean look a call of duty, you get to play as the terrorist side shooting whatever nato ally is in the way and you don't see them protesting.
