My main character is looking for a pvp corp that uses Ventrilo rather than Teamspeak. Help please there must be someone out there who also prefers the quality offered by Vent.
It might seem trivial but as good communications is a very important part of combat, I can't understand why everyone doesn't use Vent.
Anyway,if there is anyone out there who uses Vent and wants an active, self sufficient player who has already had some good pvp experience, please let me know.
If there isn't I think I'd better get used to a lot more *****ling and misunderstandings.
Maybe I'm just getting old

Certa uses vent whenever we are on corp ops. However we use teamspeak for alliance ops. Still if you are US timezone contact me if interested.

E-R, Black Lance, M4ZA, N4NI, and the rest of our friends all use vent, quality is much better.

My corp doesnt use Vent or TS, we actually write out on paper what we wanna say to each other and mail the messages in RL It takes a bit more time, but I think that people can convey their emotions better on paper than through voice communication.

Have you tried vent M8 ? I think if you did, you'd realise that you get a clear, sharp and top quality communications system that is definitely superior to TS. Why settle for second best ?

 LMAO Thanks m8. I really did laugh out loud when I read your response. Ironically, I think I would prefer the paper option to TS anyway.

What most people fail to understand is that it isn't ventrilo or teamspeak that makes the quality, it's the codec that is beeing used. And Teamspeak can use all codecs that ventrilo can use, which means the quality will be identical when configured using the same codec and same settings.
The reason why people think that ventrilo is better is because it's configured with a better codec at higher bitrate than teamspeak per deault.. :)

The fact that Vent has higher bit rates by default makes it better than TS. Why? Well as I'm show many of you know, most people who set up vent/TS servers don't really know what they are doing in the first place. So if they set up a TS server you get that crappy muted TS sound, if they set up vent it just sounds great right out of the box, yeah it may use a little more bandwidth, but I've never actually heard anyone complain about that. If they do they prolly have a crappy net connection and have bigger problems to worry about than their voice chat. e.g. putting their ship into warp doesn't get lagged before I get em scrambled
