Anyone else feel that nearly every ship in the game could use an extra 20-50% grid and cpu.
it would increase the variety of setups which has to be a good thing.

Would no longer be a use for grid and cpu upgrades, and would be too easy to fit the ships.

Yes. If any apoc can fit 8 tachyons + tank without grid mods then that'll completely ruin the game. Who cares about a tempest with 6 1400s or a mega with 7 425s - that apoc can get EIGHT turrets for FREE and throw 7 damage mods in low! If thats not over powering that I don't know what is.
That said however - "line" cruisers need an across the board 15% or so increase in powergrid to bring their fitting more in line with battleships and frigates. Oh, and the Brutix needs to be unnerfed.

It would not encourage differing setups, everyone would fit the most powerful weapons/mods without giving fitting a thought and personally I enjoy figuring out how to fit that last neutron blaster or whatever to my Enyo.

This however I agree with, cruisers are the tightest ship to fit, a little more pg/cpu would do wonders for them.

If you want more grid & cpu, train. If you have your skills maxed, buy modules with lower reqs.
If you have done both, well done, what are you worried about? ______________________________________________

You already do, its called skills!
Engineering, Electronics, Weapons upgrades, Avdanced weapon upgrades, etc... what more do you want
I trained Adv. Wep upgrades to lvl 2 and could already fit a setup to my zealot which was impossible previously.

If CPU and grid were so high that you could fit anything, the chances are that it would not lead to more variety as everyone would fit the best of everything.
Variety comes from making compromises in your set-up

Doesn't really make sense to be able to fit best guns and best tank at the same time, no compromises..
I think it's ok as it is..

It would not increase the variety of setups it would decrease it as noone would have to make sacrifices.

Battleships... NO
Cruisers, give em a straight 15%
Frigs, give a few 3 or 4 more grid.

Yes, it would. Ships are a standard thing, so are the mods you install and you can only take a ship so far. Then your skills comes in. The more skilled you are the better you can kit out your ship.

To be honest i think that idea sux, It would mean some uber ships but also allow people who havent spent the time training to fit vessels. The whole point of skill training is that it enables better fittings for the more experianced player!
variety is good more nerfing and adjusting is bad!

Part of the fun in the game is coming up with fits, what you propose would make BS fitting too easy.
Cruisers and Battlecruisers could do with a tweak or maybe battlecruisers could have tier 2 versions that make them more pocket battleships as opposed to armoured cruisers that the current ones are now.

I think the grid/cpu setup we have now is just fine, but I would like to see cruiser guns more worthwhile for the grid they use (I just use frig guns usually...), and add some kind of module to convert a percentage of my grid to cpu and vice versa (with some loss, like 20% grid to get 10% cpu). _________________ [SAK] And Proud Of It! aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base? |

Uhhh... you mean other than the zillions of low slot mods that give a boost to power or cpu? Or are you talking about a high slot mod to do something similar. Not sure I see what the point of it would be but...
