It would be nice if you could do a chaser view, persay, of a ship your trying to attack, or to take a look at other ships or at the rock your mining, or what ever rather than just a stationary view point. or a chase cam, what ever it would bring more to the atmosphere of eve. Next as a part of the black market if you could counterfit ISK in certain regions, of course these people would not last long in empire space if they used the isk they manufactored. I really like this idea...
One thing i really hate about combat is you always seem so far removed from it... ---------------- ~= Askari =~

I think there should be a hotkey to bring the camera to directly behind the ship, and a chase mode sounds good too.

I think the game just generally severely lacks key-interaction.
It is very apparent it is a mouse-lovers game, and whilst the combat system is probably great for cruisers and battleships, it is pretty bad for faster frigates to have this kind of combat interface. Its a little surprising there isn't much in the way of joystick support for those that want it (again more for the frigates), but thats a side-issue.
Yes Please! Some bindable keys :D Toolbars with number on so we can use the 1..0 keys for something also :D

I just had a thought about the "battle" angle you get when you hover over a locked target, i.e. when the camera swings to the direction of the target and tracks it.
It'll be really nice to have this as a permanent viewing angle, without having to hover the mouse.

Ruffles, since the last patch, I think, there is a way to bind keys.
It is part of the menu that appears when you press escape.
It gives you the option to bind any ship function to a key.
However, I have found it to be bugged, as it does not store your binds for the next time you log in. So you have to do it each time you start eve. :(
I recon this bug will be fixed soon. (I filed a bug report on it. So they are aware of it.)
I agree though, this is a great feature, and greatly enhances my enjoyment of the game. It does my head in to have every function controlled by the mouse.
I wasn't going to buy eve when I found out that it didn't have joystick control. But now I wouldn't have it any other way :) (Thank the gods I was excepted for beta :) )
Regarding the camera angles idea, I cant understand why eve doesn't have more camera control options. Nearly all space games on the market have the ability to change camera views. Seems like a weird oversight for a game so obviously designed to look good.

If you want to figure out camera angles and things like that, i suggest you check out the game Homeworld. Came out a while ago, same 3d space to operate in with a 3rd person view of the ships.
They had a few nice features with this, holding "Alt" would let you "Target" a ship to follow and be able to rotate around.
Holding "Alt" and drawing a box around some objects would stay as closely zoomed in on those objects as possible and still keep all in screen.
Great idea, luv it. ------------------- Basic truths? Idiots make us rich. - Some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them. |

As for the counterfeit isk, eh, i don't think we need another way for people to cheat you out of money. Atm it's too valuable and in-station trading is the only secure way to do so. If you introduce that, then you have no way of knowing that the 150mil isk you are getting is real . . . ------------------- Basic truths? Right faulnerith, the chase cam was the main point, I threw in the counterfiting for ****s and gigles, Still homeworld was probably and still is one of the best games ever made. Each time I played it I got goose bumps and shivers man. the story line, the atmosphere was plainly put "space" and more so. Loved it to death =)PLEASE TAKE SOME EXAMPLES FROM HOMEWORLDS GAME DESIGN if you allready havent CCP "if you wish to live wisely, ignore sayings like this one" -Annonymous
