The player must be manually sending the commands. If a program is automating those commands for you, then it would be considered a breach of our EULA.
that was said by a GM. |

Lovely Dumplings wrote:Here's your CCP official answer at http://community.eveonline.com/pnp/eula.asp Section 6-A-3 You may not use your own or any third-party software, macros or other stored rapid keystrokes or other patterns of play that facilitate acquisition of items, currency, objects, character attributes, rank or status at an accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play. You may not rewrite or modify the user interface or otherwise manipulate data in any way to acquire items, currency, objects, character attributes or beneficial actions not actually acquired or achieved in the Game.
This would indicate that botting/macroing is allowable as long as it doesn't >accelerate< acquisition of the items mentioned above.
However, and I think this is in the TOS or further in the EULA, there are additional stipulations that also govern how such bots/macro may work such as they may not have decision making logic meaning you can macro a series of actions as long as that macro is not capable to making decisions. Is my mining laser on? Yes, then wait. No, then turn it on. Would be an example of a decision and therefore prohibited.
Frankly I can't be arsed to find it. Maybe it doesn't exist anymore as I never see anyone quote it. We want breast augmentations and sluttier clothing in the NeX! |

If any macro is bannable regardless of speed, why does EULA say what it says? The message is clear - macros that act at the same or lower speed than regular gameplay are valid. dude don't try dancing around EULA, you do not own your account, you are leasing it, you do anything that CCP deems as out of order and they will remove your **** fater than you can type BOT.
Then that section of the EULA needs to be changed. Are you ******* dense? |

You want a DEV or GM to give you the answer, file a petition. Just don't hold your breath while you wait for an answer.... it may take a bit of time.
They are important people with important jobs and have little time to point out the rules that are specified in the EULA. |

So, it's going to be one of those days, is it?
When every small minded Kelduum Revaan supporter knocks out a thread trying to stealth justify his actions. Not the first time, but annoying nonetheless.
Mr Epeen There are 86,400 seconds in a day. You just saved one of them by typing 'u' instead of 'you'.-á Congratulations, dumbass! |

Both bot-mining and macro-mining are completely legal as far as the EULA is concerned. The trick is identifying the bot or macro and using the correct amount of firepower to mine them out of the asteroid or ice belt before CONCORD kills you (since killing the bot- or macro- is an illegal act in their eyes). I mine in EVE because I'm too drunk to fish in WoW.-á |

Don't Bot or Macro and you won't run the risk of getting banned and having all your space goodies taken away. Ifs and buts won't work if a dev thinks you're breaking the EULA you will be banned.
If you want to play Russian roulette by trying to push the rules or blatantly breaking them then don't get upset when you run out of luck. PEWPEWPEW |
