I'm putting together my first T3, a Proteus. After a significant amount of fiddling with the fittings, I've come to choosing between the Emergent Locus Analyzer and the CPU Efficiency Gate. Thing is, I want the CPU Gate due to aesthetics, but I can't find any scenarios where it's -more- useful.
So are there any circumstances where that extra CPU actually comes in handy? From what I can tell, even at high levels its barely more than the other subsystems, and well, it seems like the CPU Gate is deeply inferior to the other subsystems.
Am I missing something? |

It's like a fitting module to make up for something using a lot of CPU. You can't go wrong with Emergent Locus Analyzer though.
Sorry it is not as pretty.
BTW Proteus is a blast so don't listen to what some say! |

The CPU gate is kinda the black sheep of the proteus electronics systems, but Orlacc has it right...it's a sub there to make up for CPU heavy fits that can't fit on the other subs. Also it does come out with more CPU than the other subs and it doesn't take much to be worth it when you need it.
My favorites are the emergent locus and Dissolution Sequencer. I don't use the friction extension processor but that's cause I don't pvp as much as some do. |

I'm wondering what those CPU heavy fights might be. I suppose a drone proteus might need the CPU gate for the drone mods, but it seems to me that the drone offensive subsystem may be a bit lackluster compared to some of the others. |

the emergent locust is there if you want to probe. if you're not going to probe, don't use it. if you don't need the extra cpu [and you shouldn't] don't use that crappy sub. make your proteus look like a hammerhead shark and melt faces. |

I'd also love to use the CPU gate because of it's looks, but it really is totally useless. I've never come up with any fit that would need that much CPU. Even on link fits the Dissolution Sequencer has enough, and it has the sensor strenght advantage.
I wish they would swap the gfx assets with any of the useful subs.

The only T3 fits I've ever needed the CPU sub for are those with oversized reps. Generally shield setups or RR. |

My proteus hits hard with blasters, hauls a** with a t2 10mn ab, plenty of armour, tanks good (for now), and cap stable with everything running, and the best part, it's UGLY like poo with no drone backup. Plain and simple, and like what others said, to heck with aesthetics and go with subsystems that fit your playstyle |

Subsystems are balanced on looks AND utility. Since it's pretty, it must be useless. |

I'm still four days away from getting into the ship, but I've had a lot of fun theorycrafting! There's so many options! I feel like I'm going to have to build an entire stable of these babies.
