Not sure if this is the right place, but for some reason I can no longer access http://www.eve-online.com. I can access http://myeve.eve-online.com no problems, as well as the rest of the web (well the parts I go to anyway).
Ive tried the usual stuff, such as deleting cookies/files etc. also checked Hosts file, ran a spyware scan, but found nowt unusual.
Any1 got any ideas please?

Edited by: Vollaryn on 23/07/2005 19:04:18 I'm having the exact same problem, myself. I tried a tracert to www.eve-online.com, and one of the hops is timing out for me.
I've had to start using a proxy in order to get to anything on the EVE-Online site, but at least I can access it now. |

i should add that I also did a ping to the site and got replys back no problem. Ive also read thru about others having problems but getting data access errors back, whereas mine is a simple 404 error.

Yeah, I can ping www.eve-online.com too and get a response, but I still have one hop that's timing out on me when I tracert. Try a tracert and see what shows up.
Also, you might want to try a proxy to see if you can access it that way, works for me (though I have to remove the proxy whenever I want to view stuff such as the dev blogs etc...)

I just did a tracert myself and found the same problem. One of the hops fails to respond, which I suppose must be stopping my web request cold(though I can still ping www.eve-online.com just fine)
The hop immediately before the break is r2-srp0-1.in.nycmny83.cv.net (65.19.96.70) and the hop immediately after the break is bcs1-so-3-1-0-500.NewYork.savvis.net (204.70.192.190)
Anybody know any way I can route around the bad server or have any idea who I might be able to contact to hopefully get it fixed so I can again access www.eve-online.com?

Same thing... to get into any part of the website, I have to first go to "myeve..." the normal EVE website does not work, from multiple internet access locations that I have tried.

Me too, and i can't play, not because i can't connect to the game server, but simply because i can't connect to the web server and download the latest patch.....
Mail is either not working or not replyed to, so i guess i will have to get a pen, pensil and a real stamp to cancel my accounts.....

My problem manifested itself in my inability to completly log into the game. Login process stoped when I got message "got units" then after a while game timed out. Lasted for 4-5 days.
Today I did manage to log in, hopefuly problem is gone now.

Just to say i have the same problem to, I can access the site fine on work / friends cpu's but at home it will not find the site.
Can't believe it is my computer as there are no other sites that either me, my wife or my daughter (christ i have to stop playing computer games ) have any problems with. Horizon (HZN) |

Same here. I have been unable to access www.eve-online.com for a while now which makes it annoying when people keep pointing you to links in the online database when I cannot access the online database.
Tried it from work today and it worked so thought whatever had been causing it had been fixed but got home and tried it and no, still not working. Could it be an NTL problem or are others having this problem using different ISPs.
Especially liked the post about the server problems and to read the message of the day that should be displayed on the eve login screen - I just get blank space where that message should be, arghhhh.

For the last 1-2 weeks i've been unable to connect to www.eve-online.com, only to myeve.
Due to a powershortage, my router has been disconnected. And suddenly it works again.

Had the same problem here too. Firefox kept saying something like "No document data". The weird thing is that, I could only access myeve, but not the home page, or the Store or the Item DB. Went to my mates house, it worked fine. Then a couple of days later the whole site worked again, and then stopped the next day. Well, it's back to normal now, although don't know for how long.
