Hi m8y's, I'm trying to find some list of the system security levels that each type of ore first appears in... for example Jaspet appears in .4 or less (i believe).
If anyone could provide a full list, or point me in the direction of one, id be happier than the proverbial dog with two ****s

Thanks for that, could you just calrify your format?
Are you saying that the only thing that can be found in 1.0 is Veld?
And are you also saying that Omber Plag Prox & Scord can be found between .9 & .5 ?
Do you know any more accurate breakdowns on this.... are there any strict rules about the highest security a given ore will appear in?
I really appreciate the help deja , if you could help me out a bit more id be happy to have your space babies.

Kern first appears in 0.7, along with omber... so that is certainly wrong.
Omber however is restricted to gallente space, and kernite isn't in Caldari space either. --

This information is incorrect. You can find Omber in 0.7 minmatar space as well.

And if you want Kernite you can find it at Caldari Space - Vashunen for instance.
However, that's a 0.4 system and the gate to Sivala is usually camped by some pirate corps (like MAFIA or Genesis Knights).

Corrected--omber is NOT in caldari space, and I don't think in amarr as well.
Omber is restricted to gallente and minmatar then. Not sure about kernite. But many ores are restricted to different areas. --

you can get small amounts of omber in amarr space usually hidden in fugitive hideouts never tried mining it myself mind, you get kernite in amarr space as well usually 0.7 down maybe ocasionaly 0.8?

I've seen omber in caldari in fugitive hidesouts also, but never in belts. --

There is also a difrence between "TRUE" securit status, as it is now the game rounds the sec status to the closest 0.1. In 0.0 its especialy true as its all from 0.9 to 0.1 sec status and you dont find even gneiss in 0.0 sometimes (cuz its not true 0.0 its closer to 0.1 then 0.0).
So i guess its the same with empire stuff

Seems like there's alot of uncertainty & confusion on this subject, I think maybe we could do with some more input.
Eventually I hope to createn the "beginners Guide to Mining", I have done pretty much everything now, so, once I'm able to verify the security & racial restrictions on each ores appearence in belts, i should be able to publish what I hope will proove to be a simple yet informative guide to setting yourself up in the mining industry (maybe touching on production aswell).
So, anyone else out there who might be able to help with this?

I've seen hem in .2
The tricky thing about 0.0 ore is exactly as stated above. You don't know the actual security status. Although there is a link to actual security numbers of systems somewhere. Named 0.0 systems are fairly limited. Once you get in to true 0.0 the more exoctic the ore gets.
The other thing I've noticed is the classes of each ore change. You might be able to find hemorphite in .2 but it you have to look a little. And as you get less and less security you get better classes (like radiant hem) and it becuomes more abundant.
As far as mining it. I have gotten comfortable enough to solo ninja mine named 0.0. But some of those deeper 0.0 systems are insane and I would never attempt it alone.

I am not sure if I should reply this thread or start a new one, but I wanted to ask if there is list of which minerals each ore has?

If the Item Database were working, you could find it there. Otherwise I would look at Eve-i.com's Object Explorer.
