As the title suggests, please list all of the things you've used an Orca for that have nothing to do with mining.
For example: I use an orca to help my 0 security status character suicide bomb people in high sec by keeping my capsule near it so I can quickly board a ship wherever I want before the Navy NPCs show up. (Everyone knows this one, right?) |

Tangential to what you already said, the Orca can be used to stage multiple cruiser-sized ships in space. A single Orca can carry enough Thorax hulls to take down several Hulks in one go. You can also use an Orca as an all-in-one base of operations for PVE and exploration by storing a Covert Ops frigate and a Battlecruiser or smaller ship in the Ship Maintenance Array. It's basically a high-security usable logistics Carrier. |

The Orca is quite often used to transport ships for incursion runners to move between spread out incursions. It can fit a combination of T3/logi/command ships which can be quite useful. It also is not bad as a gang booster (for combat, not mining). Although it doesn't have the bonus for it, it can still be effective with a mindlink. |

Orca also makes a great battering ram with which to bump people off of station docking rings so that they cannot engage in docking games at the station. It requires a little bit of set-up to do correctly, but being hit by an Orca is enough to send a ship flying several kilometers in a direction it does not want to go. One could argue that this purpose is much better accomplished by a Stabber Fleet Issue, Hurricane, Typhoon or Machariel. |

Wormhole base of operations...
When I got tired of maintaining my own POS in the Alliance's WH, I just took to squatting in one of their bubbles and living out of the Orca.
Plenty of room to store PvP, anom, salvager, and scanner ships.
Plenty of room to store extra modules and ammo, plus you can refit off it.
Plenty of room to store loot.
And if you ever get tired of squatting in someone else's bubble, you hop in and warp back to k-space will all your assets* in a single trip.
*Just make sure you don't announce to the world that you have all your assets in a single trip, or you may lose all your assets in a single gank! =) |
